BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.10-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.10-preview
Adds an optional allied pass-through only outside combat mode and simplifies the controls.
With the new mode enabled, allies block each other during combat. Characters already overlapping when combat starts can move outward until clear. Combat detection follows the game's quicksave battle/damage timers and their cooldown; dialogue and other save restrictions do not count. The mode defaults OFF and remembers your choice.
Controls
Hold Left Ctrl + Left Shift:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| F1 | Allied pass-through ON/OFF; starts ON each launch |
| F2 | Outside-combat-only mode; default OFF |
| F3 | Enemy cooperation: enemy pass-through + attack spacing; default OFF |
| F4 | Gentle separation after movement; default ON |
| F5 | Attack positioning; default ON |
| F6 | Record a 20-second support capture; ends automatically |
F2–F5 remember your settings across launches. Enemy cooperation requires F1 and F5 enabled. Visual route preference starts enabled, has no release toggle, and ignores old saved OFF settings. Slow evaluations use native fallback for that request without disabling the feature.
Install or upgrade
Close the game, extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.10-preview-windows.zip into the game folder, and reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe. Existing optional settings are preserved. Launch through EEex.
This is the regular single-player preview. The separate multiplayer experiment remains experimental.
Verification and support
Combat transition and corrected overlap escape were confirmed in-game in the dedicated BG2EE 2.6 copy. Offline runtime, native assembly and control checks pass across all four supported BGEE/SoD and BG2EE 2.6/2.7 profiles. Real WeiDU install/reinstall/uninstall checks pass. The new combat mode has not been live-tested on every profile.
For support, press Ctrl+Shift+F6, reproduce the problem, then run Collect BG Redux Support.cmd and send bg-redux-support.log with your steps. The included bg-redux-movement/QUICKSTART.md has the usage guide.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.9-mp-experimental
BG Pathfinding Redux — experimental multiplayer
Separate test release based on 0.1.8-preview. Removes explicit network-session
refusals from private path-search correction, gentle settle and visual route
preference. Both peers must install this same build with compatible EEex and
matching options. The regular release is unchanged.
This unlocks existing movement behavior; it does not synchronize settings,
route reservations or automatic spacing orders between peers. Paired gameplay
testing is pending. Native signature, bitmap ownership and action checks remain.
Close the game, extract the Windows ZIP into each game folder, and reinstall
component 0 with setup-bg-redux-movement.exe. Launch through EEex. Existing
settings persist, so match F2–F5 on both peers before testing.
Start with F2/F3/F4/F5 OFF and F6 ON. Test host-controlled and client-controlled
characters crossing each other and doorways; watch both screens. Then enable
attack spacing, gentle settle, route preference and enemy cooperation separately.
Record matching trials with Ctrl+Shift+F7 on both peers, then send both support
logs from Collect BG Redux Support.cmd with who controlled each character.
The ZIP includes bg-redux-movement/MULTIPLAYER-TEST.md and QUICKSTART.md.
Offline tests cover network admission, private-map corrections and preserved
safety checks. Offline fixtures do not establish multiplayer synchronization.
No launch tests were performed.
To return to the normal build, reinstall 0.1.8-preview on both peers.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.8-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.8-preview
Fixes a false executable-hash warning during installation. The installer now
expands the selected filename before checking its MD5. An unchanged, verified
game executable no longer gets reported as unfamiliar.
Modified executables still warn and remain installable. Movement behavior,
optional enemy cooperation, hotkeys and all four 2.6/2.7 engine profiles are unchanged.
Install or upgrade
Close the game, extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.8-preview-windows.zip into the
game folder, and reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe.
Existing optional settings are preserved. Launch through EEex.
If 0.1.7 already works, its false warning did not damage your installation.
Verification
Real WeiDU tests using copied reference and personal EET resources confirm that
clean and renamed executables do not warn, while modified executables warn and
install successfully. Install/reinstall/uninstall and settings preservation pass.
Offline runtime checks remain in place; no game was launched by the agent.
The hotkey guide is included as bg-redux-movement/QUICKSTART.md.
For support, record with Ctrl+Shift+F7, reproduce, run Collect BG Redux Support.cmd
and send bg-redux-support.log with steps.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.7-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.7-preview
Adds optional enemy cooperation: enemies can pass through their own side and
prefer separate melee approach positions. Default OFF, toggled with
Left Ctrl+Left Shift+F2; the choice is saved across launches.
Changes
- Applies to normal-sized enemies with matching hostile allegiance. Party,
neutrals, different allegiance groups, larger creatures, terrain and doors
remain blockers. Known current attack targets are also retained as blockers. - Enemy approach points are reserved separately. When frontage is occupied,
enemies may wait briefly (up to 600 ms), then return to native behavior.
Overlap can still occur; this is an experimental allegiance-based option. - Requires allied movement and attack spacing ON. Core allied traversal remains
unchanged. No additional native hooks or on-disk executable edits. - F2–F5 choices persist in the game-folder INI, independently of saves.
F6 allied movement is session-only and starts ON each launch; legacy saved
Movement=0is ignored. - Correct the WeiDU game predicate for BGEE/SoD content detection.
- Include a concise hotkey guide in the ZIP.
Install or upgrade
Close the game. Extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.7-preview-windows.zip into the
game folder and install/reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe.
Launch through your EEex loader and retain the bg-redux-movement folder.
Existing optional settings survive reinstall; enemy cooperation defaults OFF
when no saved choice exists. Archived SoD requires DLC Merger before EEex.
Validation
The user accepted enemy doorway/open approaches in the dedicated Windows BG2EE
2.6.6.0 test copy. Four-profile offline verification checks real executable bytes
and layouts plus simulated Lua/EEex fixtures: 427 configuration assertions,
212 enemy cooperation assertions, 180 enemy reservation assertions, 652 overlap
escape assertions and 2,303 private-map policy/adapter assertions.
Offline fixtures do not emulate gameplay. No game was launched by the agent.
Enemy gameplay has not been retested on every engine profile. Multiplayer remains
unsupported. Existing native door-entry failures remain under investigation.
For problems, press Left Ctrl+Left Shift+F7, reproduce within 20 seconds, then
run Collect BG Redux Support.cmd and send bg-redux-support.log with steps.
Startup failures do not require recording.
Verify the ZIP with SHA256SUMS.txt. Original code/docs are MIT; bundled WeiDU
retains GPL-2.0 with corresponding source.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.6-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.6-preview
Fixes allied movers becoming trapped when a character they already overlap
becomes neutral or hostile, for example after dismissal or charm.
Changes
- Allow outward movement from an existing neutral/enemy overlap.
- Apply the same origin-aware exception to the pathfinder's private working map.
- Re-check current positions: after separation, normal neutral/enemy blocking resumes.
- Preserve walls, closed doors, unrelated blockers and occupancy validation.
- No new executable hook sites, live collision-map edits or teleporting.
- Existing settings survive reinstall. Escape uses the Movement setting.
- Enemy-to-enemy pass-through is not included in this release.
Install or upgrade
Close the game. Extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.6-preview-windows.zip into the
game folder and install/reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe.
Launch through your EEex loader and retain bg-redux-movement. Reinstall after
game updates to refresh the game/version hint. Archived SoD requires DLC Merger
before EEex.
Validation
The user confirmed both neutral and enemy overlap escape in personal Windows EET
on October 9, 2026. The change passes 652 actual-profile policy assertions and
1,555 private-map policy/adapter assertions, plus existing native-byte/layout and
startup fixtures for BG2EE/BGEE/SoD 2.6/2.7. These offline fixtures do not emulate
gameplay. No game was launched by the agent.
Existing platform compatibility remains as documented. This change has not had
an additional live retest on each profile. GOG gameplay and multiplayer remain
unvalidated. The previously recorded door-entry failure remains under investigation;
this release does not claim to fix it.
For problems, record with Left Ctrl+Left Shift+F7, reproduce within 20 seconds,
then run Collect BG Redux Support.cmd and send bg-redux-support.log.
Startup failures do not require a capture.
Verify the ZIP with SHA256SUMS.txt. Original code/docs are MIT; bundled WeiDU
retains GPL-2.0 with corresponding source.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.5-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.5-preview
Makes compatibility permissive for storefront variants and modified executables.
Movement behavior and the four existing native profiles are unchanged.
Changes
- Accept GOG's
BaldurII.exeandSiegeOfDragonspear.exein installation and support collection. - Custom game or EEex launcher filenames now warn instead of preventing installation.
- Unfamiliar hashes and PE headers are advisory. Startup tries the likely existing
profile using matching entrypoint/image size or an installer game/version hint. - Generate that hint using EEex's game-family and
data/PATCH27.BIFdetection. - Keep checks for actual native instruction/layout mismatches, missing EEex APIs,
invalid architecture, and conflicting old movement installations. - Record candidate-selection provenance, alternate file hashes, and the installer
hint in diagnostics. Existing settings survive reinstall.
Install or upgrade
Close the game. Extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.5-preview-windows.zip into the
game folder and install/reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe.
Launch through your EEex loader. Retain bg-redux-movement. Reinstall after game
updates to refresh the game/version hint. Archived SoD requires DLC Merger before EEex.
Validation
All four known BG2EE/BGEE/SoD 2.6/2.7 profiles pass native-byte fixtures with
preference OFF/ON and unfamiliar-header activation. Selector tests cover 442
assertions, including malformed hints and retained native refusal. Real WeiDU
fixtures verify alternate/custom executable names, a renamed launcher, hint
installation/rollback, and settings/log preservation. Support collector tests pass.
GOG gameplay confirmation is pending. This removes the filename/header
rejection; it does not claim a live test of the GOG executable. Native checks
remain active, but passing them is not comprehensive validation of arbitrary edits.
No game was launched by the agent.
For problems, record with Left Ctrl+Left Shift+F7, reproduce within 20 seconds,
then run Collect BG Redux Support.cmd and send bg-redux-support.log.
Collect before restarting when possible; startup failures do not need a capture.
Verify the ZIP with SHA256SUMS.txt. Original code/docs are MIT; bundled WeiDU
retains GPL-2.0 with corresponding source.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.4-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.4-preview
Adds user-confirmed Windows Steam BGEE and Siege of Dragonspear 2.6.6.0 and
2.7.3.0 with EEex 1.3.0, alongside the accepted BG2EE 2.6.6.0 and Steam 2.7.3.0
profiles. Includes easy, single-file community diagnostics.
Changes
- Add BGEE/SoD profiles 55 and 56 with relocated native addresses.
- Correct the lazy gentle-settle Stop guard in both 2.7 profiles.
- Warn and continue installation on an unfamiliar full executable hash.
Recognized startup headers and native signature/layout guards remain required. - Add
Collect BG Redux Support.cmd, which createsbg-redux-support.log
with versions/hashes, package/profile metadata, settings, mods, and bounded logs. - Add area/creature and package/profile context to requested snapshots.
- Enable loader logging when its existing setting is blank; preserve custom paths
and restore the previous loader INI on uninstall. No automatic uploads. - Retain movement policy and feature defaults; verbose recording remains opt-in.
Install or upgrade
For archived Steam/GOG SoD DLC, install DLC Merger first, then EEex. Close the
game, extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.4-preview-windows.zip beside Baldur.exe,
and install/reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe. Launch
through InfinityLoader.exe and retain the bg-redux-movement folder. Existing
settings survive reinstall. Upgrades from 0.1.0/0.1.1 require uninstalling the old
named component first.
Movement, attack spacing, gentle settle and optional visual preference default ON.
Normal play keeps compact startup/status/errors; recording is OFF.
Reporting an issue
Hold Left Ctrl + Left Shift, press F7, and reproduce a movement issue within
20 seconds. Then double-click Collect BG Redux Support.cmd and send
bg-redux-support.log with a short description. Collect before restarting
when possible. Startup failures do not need a capture. Review the report before
sharing: character/mod names may appear. Saves and crash dumps are excluded.
Validation and scope
BG1/SoD acceptance is user-reported, including the corrected 2.7 settle retest.
Offline checks cover relocated engine functions/references, native guards and
bindings, assembly expansion, restricted-Lua selection, real executable bytes
with preference OFF/ON, lazy settle initialization, real WeiDU install/rollback,
and collector fixtures. These checks do not emulate gameplay or launch the game.
Hash warnings do not certify arbitrary executable patches or support new
versions automatically. Other storefront builds, EET gameplay, multiplayer,
long campaign stability, and Wine/Proton/CrossOver remain unvalidated.
Verify the ZIP with SHA256SUMS.txt. Original code/docs are MIT; bundled
WeiDU retains GPL-2.0 with corresponding source.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.3-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.3-preview
Fixes the startup error M_BGREDX.lua:25: attempt to index global 'io' (a nil value)
in the public version selector. The game's Lua environment does not expose the I/O
library that the previous offline harness assumed. The corrected selector uses
EEex memory reads of the loaded executable header and contains loading failures.
Both movement profiles, native hooks, settings and tuning are unchanged from 0.1.2.
Install or upgrade
Close the game, extract bg-redux-movement-0.1.3-preview-windows.zip beside
Baldur.exe, and install/reinstall component 0 using setup-bg-redux-movement.exe.
Launch through InfinityLoader.exe; keep the bg-redux-movement folder.
Existing settings survive reinstall. Upgrades from 0.1.0/0.1.1 still require
uninstalling the old component with setup-mrdx-movement.exe first; legacy settings
are copied only when the new settings file is absent. See installation instructions.
Checks and scope
Both supported executable profiles pass integrated offline checks with io=nil,
including actual executable header/native bytes and visual preference OFF/ON.
206 selector assertions cover known identities, malformed/unknown headers,
missing APIs, missing/failing loaders and duplicate loading. Configuration and
quiet-log checks pass. These checks do not emulate gameplay. Live startup of this
hotfix remains pending tester confirmation; no agent game launch was performed.
Supported profiles remain Windows BG2EE 2.6.6.0 / EEex 1.2.0 and Steam BG2EE
2.7.3.0 / EEex 1.3.0. Unknown header identities refuse safely; exact installer hashes
and native guards remain. The selected package version is in PROFILE_SELECTED;
unchanged profile readiness messages retain their earlier payload version.
Normal play keeps compact startup/status/errors; detailed telemetry is requested
with Left Ctrl + Left Shift + F7/F8/F9. Movement defaults ON and F6 toggles it.
Single player only; EET gameplay, other storefront builds, multiplayer and
Wine/Proton/CrossOver remain unvalidated. Verify the ZIP with SHA256SUMS.txt.
Original code/docs are MIT licensed; bundled WeiDU retains GPL-2.0 with source.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.2-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.2-preview
Public naming and logging cleanup for the confirmed Windows BG2EE 2.6.6.0 /
EEex 1.2.0 and Steam BG2EE 2.7.3.0 / EEex 1.3.0 profiles. Native assembly,
signature tables, movement rules and tuning are unchanged.
Install
Download bg-redux-movement-0.1.2-preview-windows.zip, close the game, and extract
beside Baldur.exe. Run setup-bg-redux-movement.exe, install component 0, and
launch through InfinityLoader.exe. Keep the bg-redux-movement folder.
Settings live in bg-redux-movement.ini; the installed selector is
override/M_BGREDX.lua. Automatic source archives lack the installer.
Upgrade from 0.1.0/0.1.1
Uninstall the old component using setup-mrdx-movement.exe first. Keep
mrdx-movement.ini: the new installer copies it when the new settings file is
absent. Existing bg-redux-movement.ini choices take priority. The installer
refuses an installed legacy component or a remaining override/M_MRIP.lua.
For a manually installed prototype, back up and remove its old overlay first.
Do not delete WeiDU-managed files instead of uninstalling.
Quiet normal play
Compact startup/status/error entries use [BG Redux]. Routine actor, path and
settle telemetry is hidden outside requested captures. Automatic activation adds
no chat instructions. Manual feature toggles still confirm their state.
Hold Left Ctrl + Left Shift: F6 movement, F5 attack spacing, F4 gentle settle,
F3 visual preference. F7 starts a 20-second diagnostic capture, F8 snapshots,
and F9 ends recording. All four features default ON; existing preferences persist.
Scope and validation
Both integrated native profile fixtures, configuration/selector/quiet-logging
checks and real WeiDU install/rollback/migration/refusal labs pass. These checks
do not emulate gameplay; live acceptance belongs to the earlier tested profiles.
No game launch or installed-game changes were performed for this cleanup.
Known profiles select automatically. Unknown builds refuse safely before mod
hooks; future patches still require a reviewed profile and compatible EEex.
Single player only. EET gameplay, other storefront 2.7 executables, multiplayer,
Wine/Proton and CrossOver remain unvalidated. See compatibility and validation docs.
Verify the Windows ZIP against SHA256SUMS.txt. Original code/docs are MIT licensed,
copyright (c) 2026 Zach Hopkins. Bundled WeiDU retains GPL-2.0 and includes source.
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.1-preview
BG Pathfinding Redux 0.1.1-preview
Added confirmed Windows Steam BG2EE 2.7.3.0 / EEex 1.3.0 support alongside
the accepted 2.6.6.0 / EEex 1.2.0 setup. One installer ZIP contains both exact
tested runtimes and selects the corresponding profile automatically at startup.
Movement behavior is unchanged: allies and friendly summons pass through one
another; enemies, neutral NPCs, walls and closed doors retain blocking. Independent
attack spacing, 150 ms gentle settle and visual route preference remain enabled
by default and toggle independently.
Install or upgrade
Close the game, install EEex for your executable, and extract the Windows installer
ZIP beside Baldur.exe. Run setup-mrdx-movement.exe, install/reinstall component
0, and launch through InfinityLoader.exe. Keep the mrdx-movement folder after
installation. Existing settings are preserved. Automatic GitHub source archives
do not include the Windows installer.
Hold Left Ctrl + Left Shift: F6 movement, F5 attack spacing, F4 gentle settle,
F3 visual preference. Movement starts ON; F6 is a toggle, not a required startup
step. F7 starts a 20-second diagnostic capture, F8 snapshots, F9 ends recording.
Game updates
Known profiles are selected automatically. Unknown executable identities disable
the mod, preserve preferences and report that an update is required; no native
movement hooks are installed. The installer also skips unknown executable hashes.
Native movement remains active if EEex initializes. Future patches still require
a reviewed profile, and EEex may need its own update. This is not a promise of
universal update compatibility.
Validation and scope
The tester confirmed revision 54 working on October 7, 2026. Its startup log shows
all four features active without MRIP errors; no per-scene captures were present.
The 2.7 port independently checked native function equivalence, addresses and
field registrations. Both profiles passed integrated offline selection/hook
fixtures with preference ON/OFF; installer rollback and unknown-build refusal
were verified on 2.6 and 2.7 resource labs. These fixtures do not emulate gameplay.
Single player only. EET gameplay, GOG 2.7, other executable hashes, multiplayer,
Wine/Proton and CrossOver remain unvalidated. Native Linux/macOS executables are
unsupported. Circle overlap and native fallback remain possible; attacking actors
are not pushed apart. See README and validation notes for exact scope and hashes.
Verify the installer ZIP using the attached SHA256SUMS.txt. Original code/docs

and includes its corresponding source archive.
