v2.24.1
Patch release fixing an MCP server that could not start on fresh installs.
Fixed
MCP server failed to start on new installs. The mcp extra allowed any
SDK version, so recent installs of servonaut[mcp] or servonaut[all]
resolved the 2.x SDK, which removed the server API this release builds on.
servonaut --mcp then exited with:
AttributeError: 'Server' object has no attribute 'list_tools'
The dependency is now capped below 2.x, so installs resolve a working SDK.
Support for the 2.x SDK will come in a later release.
If your MCP server stopped starting, upgrading to this version fixes it. To
repair an existing environment without upgrading:
pipx runpip servonaut install 'mcp<2'
Soft-cap badge named the model it downgraded to. When a Servonaut AI user
hit the soft token cap, the chat panel's stats bar read downgraded to <model id>. It now reads downgraded to faster model.
Also in this release
Coverage for the MCP SDK surface the server depends on, so an incompatible
SDK is caught by the test suite rather than at start-up.
