1.4.0
See new updates below.
Expenses
- Ad-hoc expenses on the Dashboard. Split a one-off cost — dinner, a taxi, groceries — without creating a Plan first. A new Cost breakdown section at the bottom of the Dashboard lets you add an expense on the spot, with its own People field (pick a contact, or type a name for someone not in your contacts).
- Expenses can now be checked off per person. Tick someone as paid and their share stops counting — on a Plan, Who owes what updates immediately for just them, even while the expense as a whole is still open.
- Who owes what now hides anyone already settled behind a "Show settled people" accordion, and the heading reads e.g. "Who owes what · $40.38 left".
- Expense rows redesigned: two lines (name + paid count, then amount + split), with dividers and a bit more breathing room.
Events
- The Events page's Upcoming/Past split is now a pair of filter pills (Upcoming / Past / All) instead of being baked into the sort. One is always selected. The old "Upcoming" sort option is now Natural.
- Events can be cancelled — a soft delete that keeps the record but hides it from the Dashboard. A cancelled event shows struck-through with "Cancelled" wherever it's listed, and can be restored.
- The event view modal gained a Cancel button, and Copy is now icon-only to make room.
- Dashboard rows read "Today" / "Tomorrow" / "Next Thursday" instead of a full date when the event is close, and the right-hand side counts down — "in 3 hours", "in 30 minutes", "now" once it's started.
- Added a "Add to friend timelines?" toggle when adding an event from the Dashboard, and "Add to upcoming events on Dashboard?" from a person's page — so a calendar entry that happens to name someone doesn't automatically become a record on their page.
Plans
- Idea, travel and accommodation modals gained an "Additional details" accordion for the optional fields, so the form leads with what/when and folds the rest away.
- A short date range (under 6 days) now shows as weekday pills instead of a dropdown — "Thursday", "Friday" — rather than spelling out the date.
- Time now offers "Any time" and "All day" alongside the rough times of day.
- Quick notes on a Plan can carry a date. Give one a day and it appears on the plan timeline, tagged • Draft in purple, with its own view for editing the text or day, or turning it into a real idea or travel leg (with confirmation, since the draft is replaced).
- Accommodation: "Mate's place" → "Mate's", and a new "Other" type.
- "Exact" → "Exactly" in the time precision picker.
Everything else
- Somedays list rows now match the Dashboard's row type size.
- People pickers alphabetise by first name.
- Various mobile-layout fixes: overflow on long names/notes, checkbox tap targets, keyboard-safe padding.
1.3.0
Plans
- Accommodation and travel legs can now be marked Booked, matching the existing "To book" state
- Cost breakdown expenses can be marked Settled — settled expenses drop out of "Who owes what" and its per-person breakdown, and show struck through in green
- Added By value and By receipt expense-split modes, the latter with sales tax/tip and secure arithmetic in the amount field (e.g.
7+7) - New View modals for plan timeline entries and cost breakdown items
- Stay summaries on the timeline now read as "3 nights (Thu–Sun)"
- Travel now supports Bike, Walking, and Running, alongside the existing transport types
- "Add travel": Name now leads the form, and Duration sits directly below Time
- "Copy as text" uses first names only and never substitutes "Me" — it's meant for sharing with others, not your own view
People pages
- Fun facts are now click-to-edit via a modal
- Quotes and Ideas are now stored as plain, readable markdown in the note body instead of frontmatter, and migrate automatically the first time you open a friend's page
- The Markdown section is now a collapsed-by-default accordion, with Edit reachable without expanding it
- Restructured the Someday view modal, with an auto-saving Notes textarea
- Notes fields added across Reminder, Person event, and plan Idea/Accommodation/Travel edit modals
Dashboard
- Upcoming now respects a configurable window (default 30 days); today/tomorrow are highlighted purple and overdue items red
- A fresh install now seeds the folder structure and an example friend the first time the dashboard opens
Settings
- Reorganised into Files and folders, Dashboard, Friends, and Cost breakdown groups
- Removed the Relationship types editor (typing a new relationship on a friend's page still adds it automatically)
Fixes
- Idea and Credit deletions now persist correctly
- Belated-birthday and upcoming-window settings now actually apply
- A newly seeded example friend now appears on the very first dashboard open, not only after reopening it
