The first public release.

PR Labeller opens the .label files you already have and prints to a LabelWriter through the driver you already have. Native on both Apple Silicon and Intel — no Rosetta.

Installing

Drag PR Labeller to your Applications folder before opening it. An app run straight from the mounted disk image is put in a read-only holding area by macOS, where it cannot remember your printer, your folders or your window size.

It is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so it opens in one step. If macOS says it cannot verify the app, the copy you have is damaged or is not one of ours — download it again rather than working around the warning.

What is in it

  • Opens your existing labels and renders them faithfully. All 133 label files used to develop it render pixel-identically to their reference, and saving one back produces a byte-identical file.
  • Prints to the printer and stock sizes your own driver reports, one label or a run of them.
  • Fills in addresses from an address book (.abx) or a CSV, one contact or a list.
  • Creates and edits — text, addresses, pictures, barcodes and shapes, with alignment, snapping, layering and unlimited undo.
  • Any rotation angle, not only right angles.
  • Prints straight — an alignment test and sub-millimetre offsets, because every machine grips the stock slightly differently.

Requirements

macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. A LabelWriter with its driver installed — the same driver you use now. PR Labeller ships no label sizes of its own: it asks your driver what your printer takes.

Free and fully unlocked until 1 March 2027

After that the app does not stop. Printing your existing labels stays free for ever — that is the job this was written to do. Designing and batch printing become part of 1.0 (£9.99, one payment), and everyone who uses the beta gets 1.0 free.

There is no account, no activation and no server.
