Zed Agent no longer visible when GitHub Copilot is enabled #51847

Description

@efuhzho

Reproduction steps

I’m reporting a regression related to AI assistant availability in Zed.

Previously, I was able to use both GitHub Copilot and Zed’s built-in agent/assistant at the same time. However, recently, only GitHub Copilot is available, and I can no longer see or access the Zed agent in the UI.

Current vs. Expected behavior

Expected behavior

Both GitHub Copilot and Zed’s agent should be available, or at least there should be a clear way to switch between them.

Actual behavior

Only GitHub Copilot is visible/usable. Zed’s agent no longer appears.

Questions

  • Was this changed intentionally?
  • Is this due to a new setting, account limitation, feature flag, or product change?
  • Is there a way to re-enable the Zed agent alongside GitHub Copilot?
