Sidebar is (almost) all black

• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
• I have checked that this issue can be reproduced once I removed all my Mods and Custom CSS.

What happened?

For some reason after the last beta update, the sidebar got an update that broke its theme. A previous updated for some reason changed its color to pink without me changing anything, but I just left it as it was. However, now I can't even check what URL I'm in without using CTRL + L.

A workaround I found was disabling zen.view.compact.color-sidebar in about:config.

Expected behavior

The sidebar is legible

The sidebar is not legible

No, right click the sidebar and edit theme, you can change colors, adjust light dark mode or add hex codes by enabling in about:config

Something is up with your profile, it should be right above customize toolbar. Go to about:profiles and make a new profile to test it out. I believe the one your on is corrupted somehow.

Ok, you're not right but you are in some sense. I created a new profile and such, I needed to change all my settings again to where I had them. That's when I reached the option to tell Zen if I want it to remember my history or not. After changing it to "Never remember history" and restarting the browser as it asked me... it got "corrupted" again... and if I change it to "Remember history" and restart... it fixes itself. This is pretty weird in my opinion, I link a video demonstrating it.

Edit: I checked in the profile I was using until now (which was affected by it) and it had "Custom settings for history", so only "remember history" fixes the problem. Also yes, the "Edit theme" only appears with "Remember history" too.

I am having the same issue, if i'm not mistaken the sidebar should be a lot lighter than it is (and zen seems to think it's light already as the text is all dark).

in a previous update I did add an all black colour to the gradient using the custom colours feature in previous version of the theme editor so could it be that the dark top left corner is being preserved from that and now cannot be removed?

To add custom colors enable hex codes about:config , zen.theme.gradient.show-custom-colors, set to true . You will have to fool around with the light dark at the top , I like mine similiar to what you are describing, darker up top then into my color. After you add hex, add #000, or #000000 first, then play around with the colors and opaqueness. Here is what one of mine looks like

You can get it to what you want, just takes some fiddling around

Not sure why you are having that issue, thats not how things work. The color has nothing to do with history.

Not sure why you are having that issue, thats not how things work. The color has nothing to do with history.

I'm just saying what I saw. Also, are you sure? Does the "Never remember history" setting "load" something from private windows configurations? After I open a private window I somehow have the sidebar black instead of pink and I also can't find the "Edit theme" button. However, it's a normal black theme and it doesn't hide everything in it like the issue I had at the beginning.
