PanProbe v1.2.7
PanProbe checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the
system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs 38 on-device
rendering tests.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now PanVK-kbase 0.1.0 RC3 lowmem
(panvk-kbase-v0.1.0-rc3-lowmem,
prerelease): RC3 plus BC1 RGB and BC7 textures stored at 8 bpp. They use about 25% (BC1 RGB) and
33% (BC7) less memory. Sampling is not faster, and quality is lower (about 48 dB against the exact
decode, RC3 was 57-64 dB).PANVK_BC_AFRC=0restores exact decode. Details are in the driver
release notes. - No app code changes. Only the version and the bundled driver changed.
Test status
38/38 on a Poco X6 Pro (Mali-G615 MC6, v11) with this APK. The other GPUs were not rerun with the
lowmem driver; see the RC3 release
for the results on every device.
Install
Install PanProbe-v1.2.7.apk (Android 10 or newer, arm64). The APK carries the same debug-key
signature as earlier 1.2.x releases, so it updates them in place. The driver inside the APK has
BuildID 9d9754918b27841731684efc33de82848215c665 (AGP strips the .so, so compare BuildIDs, not
file hashes).

PanProbe v1.2.6
PanProbe checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the
system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device
rendering tests. This version bundles the PanVK-kbase 0.1.0 RC3 driver (a prerelease) and has 38 tests.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now PanVK-kbase 0.1.0 RC3
(panvk-kbase-v0.1.0-rc3,
prerelease): Mali v9 to v13 supported. v9 (G57/G68/G77/G78 class) gets Vulkan 1.3, geometry
shaders, tessellation, transform feedback and more. With this binary, Run all passes 38/38 on
Mali-G57 (v9), G610 and G710 (v10), G615 and G715 (v11) and Immortalis-G720 (v12). Immortalis-G925
(v13) was not rerun on RC3. - Info tab loads by itself: the first time you open Info, PanProbe queries the driver right away.
Before, the page stayed empty until you tapped Load. robust_image_access2test: also checks formatless storage image loads and logs a BENCH line;
it reports SKIP (not FAIL) when the driver does not offer robustImageAccess2, and logs the first 16
failing texels (got/want) when it fails.
Known issues
- Immortalis-G925 (v13) has not been run with RC3 yet; G68, G77, G78 and G78AE (v9) are untested; v14
is built but untested. Results from these GPUs are welcome. - Signed with the Android debug key, same as earlier PanProbe releases, so it installs over them.
Not a store-signed build.

PanProbe v1.2.5
PanProbe checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the
system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device
rendering tests. This version bundles the PanVK-kbase 0.1.0 RC2 driver (a prerelease) and has 38 tests.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now PanVK-kbase 0.1.0 RC2
(panvk-kbase-v0.1.0-rc2,
prerelease):robustImageAccess2on v10 and later, and a Mali-G77 model row. This RC2 build
has not been run on a device yet beyond build and binary checks. Please run "Run all" and report. - Imported drivers are checked: if the
.soyou import is not an ELF file, PanProbe refuses it
and blocks Run all and the upload, instead of failing later. - 38 tests (was 37): new
robust_image_access2test; thevkd3d_reqstest now treats the
vkd3d-proton device checks as hard requirements. - Driver update card understands the new tag names (
panvk-kbase-v..., theg615prefix is
gone) and still reads the oldg615-v11-csf-v...tags. It also accepts versions like
0.1.0-rc2.
Known issues
- RC2 is untested on devices. Results from any Mali v10-v13 phone are welcome; v9 (for example
G77) is experimental and partly broken, and v14 is built but untested. - Signed with the Android debug key, same as earlier PanProbe releases, so it installs over them.
Not a store-signed build.

PanProbe v1.2.4
PanProbe checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the
system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device
rendering tests. This version bundles PanVK-kbase beta.18 RC1 and has 37 tests.
The G615 screenshots are from a Poco X6 Pro with this release. The G925 screenshot is from the
beta.18-dev+combined test build, which has the same driver code.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now beta.18 RC1
(g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.18-rc1):
a much faster shader compiler, faster and smaller BCn textures, the Mali-G710 model row, and
fixes for v10 and v13. - 37 tests (was 36): new
bc_perftest, which measures BCn texture sampling speed with the
driver's BC emulation. - Firebase Test Lab game-loop mode: started as a Test Lab game loop, PanProbe runs all tests,
uploads the result and writes a JSON summary. If Test Lab stops the run early, the results so far
are kept. - Run all keeps going when the screen rotates or the configuration changes.
- Hung tests are cleaned up: after the watchdog kills a hung test, PanProbe waits a bounded time
for it to exit, so one bad test cannot block the rest of the run. - Driver update card understands release candidates: beta.18 RC1 counts as newer than beta.17,
and the final beta.18 will count as newer than RC1.
Test results

PanProbe v1.2.3
PanProbe checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device rendering tests.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now beta.17 (
g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.17): GS draws with primitive restart no longer fault the GPU, exact depth for zero depth-range viewports, depth bounds, primitive ID and VMR fixes, plus universal fixes for v10/v12-v14 and stock ROMs (built, untested on that hardware). - 36 tests (was 17): new DXVK, Bachata S4 and vkd3d compliance reports and tests (blend, depth/stencil, descriptor model, draw params, occlusion query, robustness2, sampler, shader arithmetic, vkd3d heap and timeline, and more).
- Driver update card: checks the latest PanVK release on GitHub and downloads the Android driver, verified against the release's SHA-256. Shows "Up to date" when the bundled driver is the newest.
- Auto-upload after Run all (on by default, can be switched off): sends the result ZIP only to PanVK's own storage, never to public file hosts. "Show what is sent" lists the contents. Single-test runs are never uploaded.
- Better upload ZIPs: logcat of the run window, kbase uAPI, gpu_id, texture features, BC decision, mapper libraries (
deviceFactsin the manifest). - Skipped tests show as SKIP, not PASS.
Test results
- Poco X6 Pro (Mali-G615 MC6): 36 of 36 pass, three runs; DXVK, Bachata S4 and vkd3d compliance pass.
Cloud upload
Send to cloud uploads to PanVK's own Cloudflare storage (sha256-verified, kept 30 days, 25 MiB cap) with catbox/gofile as second copy; every upload is recorded automatically. The automatic upload after Run all uses PanVK's storage only. Telegram testers group: https://t.me/+E-NhUATmkqE5ODg1
Privacy: the upload stores device, GPU and driver info and a salted hash of your IP, nothing else personal. The ZIP may contain device model, GPU info, Android version, app and package names and file paths. No accounts, serials, contacts or files.
Known issues
- v9 is experimental and partly broken: most tests fail, games do not run.
- The driver's fixes for G610, G720, G925, G1-Ultra and stock ROMs are untested on hardware; test results from those devices are welcome.
- Signed with the Android debug key, same as earlier PanProbe releases, so it installs over them. Not a store-signed build.

PanProbe v1.2.2
PanProbe (apps/panvk-test) checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device rendering tests.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now beta.15 (
g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.15):PanVK-kbase beta.15,PANVK_DEBUG=traceworks on kbase again (trace fixes), faster kbase submission (NFS: Most Wanted about 24 to about 38-40 fps in PanPlay). - Fix: crash on large logs. With the Mesa debug env on, a full test run writes hundreds of MB of logs (one 150 MB file) and PanProbe ran out of memory on a Poco X6 Pro. Logs are now streamed and capped when read; with the debug env on, all tests complete and the Logs page opens with no crash.
- Version bump to 1.2.2, matching PanPlay 1.2.2.
Test results
- Poco X6 Pro (Mali-G615 MC6): 17 of 17 pass with the Mesa debug env off, and 17 of 17 with it on (no app crash). Update over 1.2.1 and a fresh install both work.
- Tablet Lenovo TB336FU (Mali-G57 MC2, v9, experimental): Vulkan enumerates the device and the driver reads beta.15; 1 of 17 pass, as on beta.14, with no crash.
Cloud upload
Send to cloud uploads to PanVK's own Cloudflare storage (sha256-verified, kept 30 days, 25 MiB cap) with catbox/gofile as second copy; every upload is recorded automatically. Telegram testers group: https://t.me/+E-NhUATmkqE5ODg1
Privacy: the upload stores device, GPU and driver info and a salted hash of your IP, nothing else personal. The ZIP may contain device model, GPU info, Android version, app and package names and file paths.
Known issues
- v9 is experimental and partly broken: most tests fail, games do not run.
- Fallout 4 hangs before loading the driver (PanPlay, same on beta.14).
- When catbox.moe is down, the upload falls back to gofile, which shows "not verified".
- Signed with the Android debug key, same as earlier PanProbe releases, so it installs over them. Not a store-signed build.

PanProbe v1.2.1
PanProbe (apps/panvk-test) checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device rendering tests.
What's new
- Bundled driver is now beta.14 (
g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.14), experimental Mali v9 (JM) support inside the universal driver (v10 to v14, only v11 tested). - OpenGL ES GPU name: the Info page, the logs manifest, the upload record and the JSON export now show the GPU name from the system OpenGL ES driver (GL_RENDERER, GL_VENDOR, GL_VERSION), so it is correct even when Vulkan does not enumerate.
- Upload fix: the driver name and version in the manifest and the cloud record now come from the bundled driver metadata (they read beta.14, not blank/old).
v9 test results (experimental, partly broken)
Tablet Lenovo TB336FU (Mali-G57 MC2, MediaTek MT8755):
- Vulkan now enumerates the device (
Mali-G57 MC2, Vulkan 1.1.363, driverPanVK-kbase beta.14). - Tests: 1 of 17 pass (
vertex_stores); the rest fail with no mismatches reported. - Info shows both the Vulkan device and the OpenGL ES row.

Privacy: the upload stores device, GPU and driver info and a salted hash of your IP, nothing else personal. The ZIP may contain device model, GPU info, Android version, app and package names and file paths.
Known issues
- v9 is experimental and partly broken in beta.14: most tests fail, games do not run.
- When catbox.moe is down, the upload falls back to gofile, which shows "not verified".

PanProbe v1.2.0
PanProbe (apps/panvk-test) checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device rendering tests.
What's new
- Automatic cloud log upload to PanVK's own storage (see below), with catbox/gofile as fallback.
- Upload record fixes: records now carry the real GPU name and the sha256 of the driver
.sothat actually ran. - Manifest in every logs ZIP with a sha256 per file and driver info.
- "Run tests too" prompt: sharing the Vulkan JSON with no test run yet asks you to run the tests too.
- Mesa debug env fix: the Mesa/pandecode trace dump is no longer written to
/.
Cloud upload
Send to cloud now uploads automatically to PanVK's own Cloudflare storage:
- files are sha256-verified after upload, kept for 30 days, with a 25 MiB cap;
- catbox.moe, with gofile.io as fallback, is still used as a second copy;
- every upload is recorded automatically, so testers no longer need to share links in the group (you still can).
The dialog shows progress, "Recorded" status, the link(s) and the sha256, with Copy, Share and Open Telegram group, plus Retry and Cancel.
Privacy: the upload stores device, GPU and driver info and a salted hash of your IP, nothing else personal. The ZIP itself may contain your device model, GPU info, Android version, app and package names and file paths. It does not include accounts, contacts or personal files. Files on catbox/gofile may not be deletable; PanVK's own storage deletes them after 30 days.

- When catbox.moe is down, the upload falls back to gofile, which shows "not verified".
- The bundled driver beta.13 (
g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.13) supports v10 to v14 (only v11 tested). It does not support v9 GPUs (for example Mali-G57/G68/G78). - The APK is signed with the Android debug key, the same key as earlier PanProbe releases, so it installs over them. It is not a store-signed build.

PanProbe v1.1.0
PanProbe (apps/panvk-test) checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on Mali phones. It loads the bundled PanVK driver, the system Vulkan driver or an imported .so, shows what the driver reports, and runs on-device rendering tests.
What's new
- Full UI overhaul in the PanPlay style (Material 3, bottom navigation: Driver, Info, Tests, Logs).
- Share Vulkan JSON from the Info page.
- Run-tests prompt: sharing the Vulkan JSON with no test run yet asks you to run the tests too.
- Per-run test JSON: every run saves a JSON result per test plus a summary.
- Logs page with Zip & Share and Send to cloud per run.
- System Vulkan info crash fixed.
- Persistent driver choice: the selected driver (bundled, system or imported) survives restarts.
- Upload errors now show friendly text ("Timed out", "Host not reachable", "Network error: connection lost"); the details go to logcat.
Cloud upload
Send to cloud zips a run's logs and uploads it:
- to catbox.moe, with gofile.io as fallback;
- and to the project's own storage (shown as "Skipped" until it is deployed).
It shows a progress bar, downloads the file back to verify its sha256, and has Retry and Cancel. When it is done you get the link(s) and the sha256, with Copy, Share and Open Telegram group.
Privacy: the ZIP goes to a public file host. Anyone with the link can download it. It may contain your device model, GPU info, Android version, app and package names and file paths. It does not include accounts, contacts or personal files. Share the links only in the PanVK Telegram group. Files on catbox/gofile may not be deletable; the project's own storage deletes them after 30 days.

It does not support v9 GPUs (for example Mali-G57/G68/G78): the bundled driver shows no devices there. - The APK is signed with the Android debug key, the same key as earlier PanProbe releases, so it installs over them. It is not a store-signed build.

g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.12, universal v10/v11/v12; v10/v12 untested). Rebuilt from commit4473f53(apps/panvk-test) with the same version (1.0.0, versionCode 2) and signing key. NewPanProbe-v1.0.0.apksha256:212f9e91e0ac0827f317c1998b3b8e8dc74c2d6d1385d2f20df91be74660ec2e. The tag is unchanged. Known:gs_viewport_depthcase A fails (also with beta.11).
PanProbe v1.0.0
PanProbe (formerly "PanVK Test", apps/panvk-test) checks the PanVK Vulkan driver on a Mali-G615 phone. It loads either the bundled PanVK driver or the system Vulkan driver and shows what the driver reports and whether it renders correctly. This is the first release of the app on its own. Driver releases stay under the g615-v11-csf-* tags.
What it does
- Driver tab. Pick the bundled PanVK driver (
g615-v11-csf-v0.1.0-beta.9) or the system driver. - Info tab. Device properties, core and Vulkan 1.2 features, depth-clip support, and the extension list.
- Tests tab. On-device rendering tests with pixel checks, one at a time or "Run all": tessellation, geometry shaders, BC texture decode, per-viewport depth (
gs_viewport_depth), viewport index from the vertex shader (vs_viewport_index),depth_bounds,swapchain_lifecycleand others. - Logs tab. The log of the current session, for bug reports.
Requirements
- GPU: Mali-G615 only (tested on Poco X6 Pro, MT6897).
- Android 10 or newer (minSdk 29). Tested on Android 16.
- arm64-v8a.
Known issues
swapchain_lifecyclesometimes fails during "Run all". It has not failed in isolated runs and the cause is unknown.- The APK is signed with the Android debug key, the same key as the earlier
panvk-test-*.apkfiles on the driver releases, so it installs over them. It is not a store-signed build.
