rdiff v0.1.4
Full Changelog: v0.1.3...v0.1.4
rdiff v0.1.3
MSI self-update updates Windows Installed apps together with the executable. It verifies the MSI, waits for rdiff windows to close normally, and runs Windows Installer without forcing editor termination or reboot.
This release removes the Windows PowerShell Get-FileHash module dependency found during integration testing of v0.1.2. Users on v0.1.1 or v0.1.2 should install this MSI once. Portable executable updates remain supported.
`nIntegration validation: a locally built older-version MSI containing the fixed updater downloaded this release from GitHub and upgraded successfully. Windows Installer registered exactly one rdiff product at 0.1.3; installed executable hash matched the release build, and the next update check reported up to date. Test installation was removed afterward.
macOS Apple Silicon
Download rdiff-macos-arm64.dmg for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later), targeting macOS 11 or later. Open the DMG and drag rdiff.app to Applications. Intel Mac builds are not included.
The app is ad-hoc signed and has not been notarized by Apple. If the first launch is blocked, review it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. See Apple's app-opening guide.
CLI / P4V executable: /Applications/rdiff.app/Contents/MacOS/rdiff. Mac updates are installed manually from the latest DMG; in-app self-update currently supports Windows x64 only.
Validation: 44 Rust tests passed on macOS; the packaged app launched successfully, and change navigation, applying a change, and Undo were checked. The DMG passed hdiutil verify; the extracted app passed strict signature verification and the CLI help smoke test. A SHA-256 checksum is included beside the DMG. Packaging and website changes: d8692e6.
rdiff v0.1.2
Superseded by v0.1.3. Please install the v0.1.3 MSI: this version's MSI updater can fail when Windows PowerShell cannot load Get-FileHash.
MSI installations now self-update through Windows Installer, updating the version shown in Installed apps.
- Detects MSI installations; portable copies keep direct executable updates.
- Downloads the versioned MSI and verifies its GitHub SHA-256 digest.
- Waits for rdiff windows to close normally before installation; never forces editor termination or reboot.
- Writes update status and installer logs to the path shown by the updater.
Users of the original v0.1.1 should install this MSI once to enable MSI-based updates for future releases.
Validation: 44 unit tests, Clippy, release and MSI builds passed.
rdiff v0.1.1
Native Windows x64 text diff and three-way merge tool.
- Editable side-by-side diff and Source | Result | Target merge.
- Per-block merge actions, Undo/Redo, synchronized scrolling and unchanged-section folding.
- Line-ending indicators and change overview tracks.
- GitHub self-update with SHA-256 verification and executable backup.
- English README with CLI and P4V setup instructions.
Download rdiff-windows-x86_64.exe and run it directly. You may rename it to rdiff.exe.
Validation: 43 unit tests and Clippy passed; release binary built locally for Windows x64.
Windows MSI installer: rdiff-0.1.1-windows-x86_64.msi (current-user installation, Start menu shortcut, Windows uninstall support). Install, executable hash, self-update check, and uninstall verified. Installer source: commit d69eb23; bundled executable is the original v0.1.1 build.
