• Automated Update Checks: Chronicle now silently checks GitHub for new releases each time the application is launched.
• Background Download Resilience: Updates download in the background without being cancelled when switching apps or minimizing Chronicle.
• Smart File Caching: Downloaded update packages are cached locally to prevent redundant downloads and offer immediate installation.
• Manual Check in Settings: Added a dedicated "Check for Updates" action under Settings with real-time version status indicators.

Screen Time & Day Boundary Accuracy

• IST Day Boundary Alignment: Replaced standard daily interval queries with precise foreground event reconciliation bounded strictly to 24-hour Indian Standard Time (IST) calendar days (00:00:00 to 23:59:59), eliminating cross-midnight double-counting.
• Live Session Tracking: In-progress foreground sessions are captured and added to active screen time in real-time.

Digital Wellbeing Parity

• Single Date Navigation: Day view header now correctly displays a single date label (e.g., Sun, 23 Aug 2026) instead of a multi-day range.
• Weekly Usage Bar Chart: Added a custom Canvas-based bar chart for the Week view featuring auto-scaled Y-axis hour markers, day labels, and accent-color highlighting for the selected day.

Keystore Consistency & Signing

• Fixed Signing Keystore: Release builds are now signed with a permanent release keystore stored securely in GitHub Secrets, ensuring all subsequent updates install directly over existing versions without package signature conflicts.

Installation

Important

One-Time Reinstall Notice:
Because previous builds were signed with temporary automated keys, you must uninstall any previous APK from your device once before installing chronicle-v1.0.2.apk.

All future releases (v1.0.3 and beyond) will update directly over this version using the in-app updater without requiring an uninstall.
