Good work. But without integration into a forensic analysis program, its usefulness is unfortunately limited.
Integration into IPED (https://github.com/sepinf-inc/IPED) would certainly be a good start. Perhaps a Java programmer can be found who can write a “ZFF DataSource Reader.”

Since IPED can process DD images, can you not mount a ZFF image and point IPED at the mounted DD image?

If you only have a few disk images, this is an option. But often we have ten or more disk images, in which case this method is not very practical.

Hmm, I was planning to build an FFI wrapper crate anyway (actually for use with Python :D).
This allows you to integrate the Rust library directly into Java via JNI.
However, you would then have to recreate the logic you need in IPED yourself (i.e., what I implemented in zffmount as FUSE).
You can use the very high level zffreader struct to realize this.
I'll share a project link, as soon as I'm ready. :)
