Release list
mirai 0.1.0 for Windows — experimental preview 1
Experimental. The first Windows build of mirai, published as a pre-release so it can be tried and its problems reported. Linux remains the primary platform.
Download
| File | What it is |
|---|---|
mirai-0.1.0-windows-preview.1-x86_64-setup.exe |
Per-user installer into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\mirai, no administrator rights needed. Adds a Start menu entry and offers mirai for .sgf files without taking the association from another program. Uninstall from Settings → Apps. |
mirai-0.1.0-windows-preview.1-x86_64.zip |
Portable: unpack anywhere and run bin\mirai.exe in the unpacked folder. |
SHA256SUMS |
Checksums of both. |
64-bit x86 Windows only. Neither file is code-signed, so SmartScreen warns on first run: choose More info → Run anyway.
What to expect
- Stutter is expected. GTK's Windows backend is much less mature than its Linux ones. On Windows its GPU renderers draw a black band around every window (GTK #7567), so GTK 4.24 draws with Cairo on the CPU instead, and scrolling, resizing and animation can hitch. This is not a mirai bug.
GDK_DEBUG=dcompbrings the GPU renderers back, black band included. - KataGo is not included. Use a Windows KataGo release (
katago.exewith its DLLs; any backend). For automatic setup on first run, put KataGo's folder onPATHand your network (*.bin.gz) in%USERPROFILE%\.katago\models; otherwise choose both in Preferences → Engines. See the guide. - Checked so far: live analysis with a local KataGo, Fox Go search and download, English and Simplified Chinese (following the Windows display language), a second
.sgfopening in the running instance, the installer, the uninstaller and the zip. - Untested on Windows:
mirai-server.exe(included) and connecting to a remote engine. - Settings are in
%APPDATA%\zhaob1n\mirai\config\; autosaves, the Fox cache and KataGo logs in%LOCALAPPDATA%\zhaob1n\mirai\data\. Uninstalling leaves both; delete them by hand for a clean slate.
This exact build was checked under Wine 11; an earlier build of the same work ran on real Windows hardware. Reports from real machines are what this pre-release is for: open an issue with your Windows version, what you did and what happened. For an engine problem, attach the newest file in %LOCALAPPDATA%\zhaob1n\mirai\data\katago-logs\.
How it is built
Cross-compiled on Linux from commit b82fe6e, with Rust's x86_64-pc-windows-gnu target in a Fedora rawhide container: GTK 4.24.0, libadwaita 1.9.4, GLib 2.90.0, GStreamer 1.28.6. tools/packaging/windows-cross.sh reproduces it; PACKAGING.md explains the choices.
|---|---|
mirai-0.1.0-windows-preview.1-x86_64-setup.exe |
mirai-0.1.0-windows-preview.1-x86_64.zip |
GDK_DEBUG=dcomp可以换回 GPU 渲染器,黑框也会一起回来。 - 不包含 KataGo。 请使用 Windows 版 KataGo(
katago.exe及其 DLL,任何后端均可)。
mirai-server.exe(已包含)以及连接远程引擎。
用 tools/packaging/windows-cross.sh 可以复现;各项选择的原因见 PACKAGING.md。
