grammai 0.6.6 — first public beta

AI writing assistance. Free & open source.

The first public beta of grammai: local English and German grammar checking, inline corrections, optional rewrites and English/German translation through your own Claude Code or Codex account, custom prompts, keyboard shortcuts and light/dark modes.

Includes the fix for Chrome Web Store's duplicate-manifest rejection. The Store ZIP contains exactly one manifest.json at its root.

• grammai-0.6.6-source.zip: corresponding grammai source, build instructions, GPL-3.0 license, dependency notices and the pinned upstream LingoTweaker engine/data source.

Grammar works without an account, helper or network. Optional AI currently requires macOS, Node.js 22+, a signed-in official CLI and one-time helper setup. Provider requirements and limits apply.

Validated with 45 unit checks, 16 native checks, 14 editing/experience checks, 11 onboarding checks and 10 zero-install offline checks. The packaged runtime was inspected for local machine markers, credential patterns, development maps and unnecessary image metadata.
