Installer behavior

  • Windows x64 only.
  • Does not require a separate .NET installation.
  • Installs without administrator rights to %LocalAppData%\Programs\Zlet Batch Converter.
  • Creates a Start Menu shortcut and offers an optional desktop shortcut.
  • Appears in Windows Installed Apps and includes a normal uninstaller.
  • The installer is not Authenticode-signed, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning.

Requirements and behavior

  • DOC to DOCX requires Microsoft Word.
  • XLS to XLSX requires Microsoft Excel.
  • PPT to PPTX requires Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft Office is not included.
  • Files are processed locally.
  • Existing outputs are not overwritten.
  • Complex, corrupted, password-protected, or unsupported files may fail.

Verification

  • Release build: 0 warnings, 0 errors.
  • Automated tests: 205 passed, 3 skipped, 0 failed (208 total).
  • A real legacy PPT to PPTX integration conversion passed on the packaged application payload.
  • Portable package was extracted to a clean directory and smoke-tested.
  • Installer lifecycle passed: install, shortcuts, uninstall entry, installed application launch, clean uninstall, and zero leftovers.
  • Installed window title: Zlet Batch Converter v0.0.1; process responded normally.
  • Manual application verification was accepted by the project owner.
