FAQ
Does it send my data anywhere? No. The extension talks only to the program on your computer (127.0.0.1) and refuses other addresses. There are no BrowserForge servers, accounts or telemetry. (Privacy)
Can the agent buy things or send messages by itself? No. Submitting, sending, paying, accepting terms, passwords and uploads wait for your click in the extension popup, which the agent cannot answer. Only if you turn on YOLO mode yourself do approvals pass automatically.
Why an extension and not a headless browser? Because the point is your session: your tabs, logins and cookies, visible to you, with you able to stop it.
Does it work with Edge or Brave? They load the Chrome build; the Chrome Web Store version installs there.
Which AI agents work? Any MCP client. Claude Code and OpenAI Codex are tested (Connect-an-Agent).
Do I need a local model? No. browser_run_goal is an optional fast path for routine steps (Local-Models).
Is it safe to leave the dashboard open? Yes: it is read-only, local, behind its own token (Dashboard).
What is the difference between the three tokens? Extension token: goes into the extension popup. MCP token: for your agent. Dashboard token: only for the dashboard page. Each opens only its own door.
Where is the npm package? @el-makina-ai/browserforge-mcp: npm install -g @el-makina-ai/browserforge-mcp, then browserforge setup. The unscoped name browserforge-mcp is not used (Install).
Can it get around CAPTCHAs or bot detection? No evasion is built in. CAPTCHAs are yours to solve, except the opt-in solver that needs a local CapSkip app and YOLO mode.
How do I report a bug or a security problem? Open an issue; for vulnerabilities follow the Reporting section of SECURITY.md.
