Add BrowserForge to Chrome Add BrowserForge to Firefox

Install

There are two parts: the browser extension (from the store) and the local program (browserforge) it talks to.

1. The extension

2. The local program

Needs Node.js 22 or newer (the Windows installer brings its own).

  • Windows: use the installer, see Windows-Setup.
  • Linux, macOS, or Windows without the installer: install the npm package:
npm install -g @el-makina-ai/browserforge-mcp
browserforge setup

(Or install the .tgz from the latest release with npm install -g ./<file>.tgz.)

  • From source (developers): npm install && npm run build, then node apps/mcp-server/dist/cli.js serve.

browserforge setup prints the next steps with your folders and tokens filled in.

3. Start and connect

  1. Start the program and keep it running: browserforge serve
  2. Click the extension's toolbar icon, enter ws://127.0.0.1:7345/ext and the extension token from browserforge setup (or browserforge tokens), press Connect. The dot turns green.
  3. Connect your agent: Connect-an-Agent
  4. Check everything: browserforge doctor, or open the Dashboard.
