Quran Caption v3.5.60

This major update introduces full undo and redo support, automatic WBW timestamp realignment, translation word highlighting, built-in stock media search, a new local segmentation model, and major performance improvements for large projects.

Undo and Redo

  • Added undo and redo support across the software

    You can now reverse or restore changes using:

    • Ctrl + Z to undo
    • Ctrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y to redo

    This applies to editing actions throughout Quran Caption and makes experimentation much safer.

Word-by-Word Timing

  • Added on-demand and automatic WBW timestamp alignment

    When the start or end time of a subtitle clip is changed in the timeline, its word-by-word timestamps are now automatically fetched and realigned.

    This avoids having to manually regenerate WBW timing after every subtitle adjustment.

  • Added a glow style for the word currently being recited

  • Added manual line-break styling for Arabic WBW text

    This allows you to force a new line before a specific Arabic word.

  • Updated the Quran Multi-Aligner data download URLs for local Quran Universal Aligner segmentation

Word-by-Word Translation Highlighting

  • Added WBW highlighting for translations

    In addition to highlighting the current Arabic word, Quran Caption can now highlight its corresponding word or expression inside the translation.

  • Added AI-assisted Arabic-to-translation word matching

    The AI can identify which translated words correspond to each Arabic word, reducing the amount of manual setup required.

  • CJK translations can now be styled character by character

    This improves individual styling support for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text.

  • Fixed unwanted spaces in merged Chinese translations

AI Segmentation

  • Added a new ONNX-based Surah Splitter

    This provides a better local model for automatic Quran recitation segmentation.

  • Segmentation results now display clearer review counts, including:

    • low-confidence subtitles
    • subtitles with missing coverage

    This makes it easier to understand how much manual review is still required.

Stock Images and Videos

  • Added built-in Pexels and Pixabay search

    You can now search for and import stock videos or images directly from the editor without downloading them manually outside Quran Caption.

Performance

  • Reduced preview and timeline lag, especially on long surahs and large projects

    Calculations that have already been completed are now reused instead of being unnecessarily repeated.

    This significantly improves editor responsiveness.

Translations

  • Added numeral style customization for verse numbers

    Verse numbers can now use different numeral systems, including:

    • Western Arabic numerals
    • Persian numerals
    • Urdu numerals
    • Hindi numerals

  • Added max-line support for translations

    Translation text can now automatically shrink to remain within a chosen maximum number of lines.

  • Added manual line-break styling for translation text

    This allows you to force a new line before a specific word in the translation.

  • Removed AI translation telemetry consent and related translation data collection

Surah Information

  • Added Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese translations for surah names

Export

  • Increased export clarity by improving the descriptions of the available performance profiles

  • Fixed the Export Monitor displaying four steps when the new export pipeline only uses three

  • Background processing cache is now separated by export profile

    Changing the export quality or performance profile will no longer reuse an incompatible cached background from a previous export.

  • Added runtime frame-capture logs

    These logs provide more information about what is happening during export and make debugging easier.

  • Subtitle and YouTube chapter exports can now be given a custom filename, just like video exports

Community Styles

  • Community styles are now sorted by number of downloads by default

    This makes the most popular styles easier to discover.

Search

  • Added a clear button to search fields on the homepage and inside the editor

    This allows the current search to be reset with one click.

Timeline and Preview

  • Fixed background images disappearing from the timeline

  • Added a support progress bar

Interface and Localization

  • Added the previously missing labels for the vertical and horizontal position of verse numbers
