prost-protovalidate-build — Builder::runtime_bridge. Opt-in mode
(buffa backend only) that gives messages the compile-time generator cannot
cover — CEL rules, predefined CEL, or shapes otherwise routed to the runtime —
a generated impl Validate that encodes the message to protobuf wire bytes and
validates it through the runtime Validator, reusing the full engine
(including the CEL interpreter) instead of a cargo:warning skip or a hard
error. One library now emits compile-time validators for the entire buf.validate rule surface against buffa-generated types: standard rules
inline, everything else through the bridge — so the buffa path reaches the same
coverage as the runtime Validator. Mutually exclusive with fail_on_runtime_only (returns the new Error::ConflictingOptions); the routed
messages pull prost-protovalidate's reflect/cel features into the
consumer, while standard-only builds keep the slim fail_on_runtime_only
footprint.
prost_protovalidate::bridge (feature reflect) — RuntimeBridge
(from_fds / validate_wire) plus error_to_validation_error, the runtime
surface the runtime_bridge generated code targets. Self-contained so the
generated code references only ::prost_protovalidate::* (no direct prost-reflect dependency in the consumer).
string.protobuf_fqn / string.protobuf_dot_fqn well-known string rules
(re-added upstream in protovalidate v1.2.0) — validate that a string is a valid
Protobuf fully-qualified name, without or with a leading dot. Available on both
the runtime Validator and the compile-time backend, and exposed as validators::is_protobuf_fqn / is_protobuf_dot_fqn.
Changed
BREAKING (prost-protovalidate-types): Synced validate.proto to upstream
protovalidate v1.2.2 (from v1.1.1), re-adding the string.protobuf_fqn / string.protobuf_dot_fqn rules removed in 0.3.0. The generated string_rules::WellKnown enum gains ProtobufFqn and ProtobufDotFqn
variants — breaking for exhaustive matches on that enum (also reachable
through prost_protovalidate::types), hence the 0.6.0 bump. The conformance
harness pin moved to v1.2.2; full conformance retained — 2872/2872 tests
pass (0 expected failures).
