x3utils GUI v1.2.6
Caution
SHU compatibility firmware limits
Do not use SHU compatible with these VCU versions or newer:
- F3 VCU 1.6.3
- G3 VCU 1.6.3
- ZT3 VCU 1.5.9
- GT3 VCU 1.7.2 - for reference only: x3utils does not support SHU compatible on GT3 at any version
Check the installed VCU firmware version before continuing. v1.2.6 displays this warning and requires a five-second acknowledgement before entering SHU compatible.
The original firmware is backed up first; if this was already used on newer firmware, restore that backup.
What’s new
- Added separate offline Slice, Pack, and Unpack ZIP3 workflows.
- Added optional, best-effort VCU ZIP3 creation after a successful SHU-compatible flash.
- Added automatic retry after connection failures, while stopping retries once target contact has been established.
- Dumps are staged as
.partfiles and validated before becoming selectable.binbackups. - Invalid or empty dumps can be moved safely to the OS Trash/Recycle Bin—never permanently deleted.
- All GUI output now uses one user-selected
x3utilsroot with fixed folders for backups, compatibility files, ZIP3 output, and logs. - Improved Windows path safety using the active system code page instead of rejecting every non-ASCII path.
- Linux and macOS retain Unicode path support, while offline ZIP3 inputs no longer inherit OpenOCD path restrictions.
- Malformed OpenOCD console bytes can no longer abort an otherwise valid run.
- Protection actions now produce one complete GUI log instead of a second partial toolkit transcript.
- Windows protection actions no longer write runtime configuration into the installed application bundle.
- Fixed Linux and macOS protection retry prompts and failure handling.
ZIP3 creation is an offline packaging tool, not a BLE compatibility guarantee. Test created packages through the BLE app’s Load from file flow before relying on them.
