The first public version of Epeaky: self-hosted, end-to-end encrypted chat for a small circle, on a server you run.

Alpha. One review (cryptography, server, page, release), no independent audit. Read THREAT_MODEL.md before trusting it with anything that matters.

  • Rooms are MLS groups (RFC 9420, OpenMLS in WebAssembly); the server checks every commit against each room's public state and relays ciphertext.
  • Files and images encrypted in the browser; voice rooms the server forwards but cannot hear.
  • Entry by blind token (RFC 9474), through invite links, the host's approval, or the host's own site.
  • One image for x86-64 and arm64: ghcr.io/zyn-io/epeaky:0.1.0.
