What's New

This release hardens terminal reload and session restore stability. It fixes edge cases where local terminals could briefly show stale exit state, restart incorrectly after a hard reload, or restore inconsistent saved session pointers.

Fixes

Terminal Reload Restore

Reloading the app (Ctrl+Shift+R) now restores terminals more reliably:

  • replacement terminal spawns carry the correct reconnect payload, including working directory context
  • stale PTY lifecycle events from older reload/restart attempts are ignored
  • the brief "Terminal session ended. Press Enter to restart." flash during reload recovery is removed

Session Snapshot Integrity

Saved session state is now stricter and more self-consistent:

  • activeTabId is no longer persisted when it points to a transient filtered tab
  • activeTerminalIds are filtered against the terminals that actually survive snapshot truncation

Technical Notes

  • PTY ready/output/exit events now carry a per-spawn generation so the frontend can ignore stale events from earlier terminal instances
  • terminal startup listeners are attached before terminal:create is invoked, preventing fast same-generation ready/output/exit events from being missed
  • local PTY reader startup is gated so the session is fully registered before the reader begins emitting lifecycle events
  • added focused regression coverage for session snapshot serialisation, tab filtering, terminal truncation, and active-terminal ID persistence
