Details about pages in the spreadsheet
The spreadsheet contains the following pages.
This sheet contains basic notes on this tool.
LineItemEstimate is used to prepare estimates of individual work items based on the provided RFP/documentation. The totals from this are used in the other sheets.
The Data sheet has one entry i.e. the coding hours which you have to enter from the LineItemEstimate sheet or from whatever way you calculate coding hours. This sheet also shows you the final number of hours that are estimated for the different categories of activities and the final hours that are to be allocated to the different roles.
The Team sheet is where you add team members to be allocated to the project and their roles. This is the only sheet where you should really have to enter new information for a new project in addition to the Data sheet.
The Activities sheet is where you configure the percentages of time different activities should take within the project. This is also where you will see the final calculated time for the different activities involved in the development process.
The Roles sheet is where you configure the percentages of times different roles are to spend on different activities. You will also be able to see the calculated amount of effort for each role for each activity for the project.
The Capacity sheet is an auxiliary tool to check how your organization would fare if you run one big project consuming all the resources in your company. This is basically a check on the percentages you allocate for the different activities and the roles when compared against your total capacity. This will also help you put meaningful numbers for the different categories and roles based on your actual resources. Alternatively this will help you identify hiring needs based on your workflow.
The Check sheet is where you see tables which shows you whether the percentage values you entered in the Roles and Activities sheet sum up to 100 for the corresponding activity and category respectively
The Configuration sheet is where you configure key settings for the whole system.
