Codex Switch v0.4.0
Pre-releaseFirst public release of Codex Switch, a native macOS menu bar app for manually choosing a Codex request account and reading account usage.
- Compact SwiftUI/AppKit popover with a shared S icon in the app and menu bar.
- Click an account name to select it; active account highlighting, model-limit disclosure, and short Reduce Motion-aware transitions.
- Separate official Codex logins, server-provided quota windows, local HTTP/SSE and WebSocket routing, plus image and web tool paths.
- Config backups and restoration, no automatic account fallback, no prompt or credential logging.
Download: Codex-Switch-v0.4.0-macOS-arm64.zip for Apple Silicon and macOS 14+. Move the app into Applications. Intel users can build from source.
The app is ad-hoc signed and is not Apple-notarized. See the README for first-launch instructions and compatibility limits. An installed Codex app or CLI with ChatGPT login is required. This is an independent experimental project; Codex behavior when the original account is fully exhausted remains unverified.
Validation: 28 local regression tests passed; GitHub CI passed Linux tests and macOS build/tests. The installed Apple Silicon app was checked with synthetic account selection, live quota reads, routed Codex responses, and web search. The ZIP's code signature and bundled runtime were checked after extraction. SHA256SUMS.txt covers the download.
