Release list
3.5.0 for Minecraft 26.2
Ignoring dropped every chat message containing an ignored player's name, so
whispers disappeared along with public chat and /msg stopped working the
moment someone was put on the list. Chat filtering is now split into two
independent switches, and it acts on who wrote a message rather than on whose
name appears in it.
Two switches instead of one
| Command | Affects |
|---|---|
/ignoring togglechat |
public chat only |
/ignoring togglemsg |
private messages only |
Neither touches the other. A player can be silenced in public chat while still
being able to reach you privately, or the other way round. Both are off by
default and both have an entry in the settings screen.
How a whisper is recognised
Servers that format chat with a plugin send the finished line as plain system
chat, which throws away the marker Minecraft would use to recognise a whisper.
The clickable name survives: servers make it start a whisper, and that click
carries the player's real account name. On a public line only the name is
clickable, on a whisper the whole header is, and that difference tells the two
apart — without needing to know the server's language, brackets or arrow glyph.
On a server that does not make names clickable, everything counts as public
chat and whispers cannot be told apart.
Also in this release
- Messages that merely mention an ignored player stay visible.
- Names are compared without case, so a server showing
GFitifor the account
Gfitino longer slips past the filter. - New
/ignoring debug chat, which writes incoming chat tologs/latest.log
with its click and hover events, to work out how a server formats messages.
Session only, never written to the config.
Requirements
Minecraft 26.2, Java 25 or newer, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, Fabric API and
Cloth Config. Simple Voice Chat and Mod Menu remain optional.

3.2.0 for Minecraft 26.2
The mod already followed Minecraft's language setting. It just had nothing but English
and the original Korean to follow it with.
Added
- A German translation, covering everything: settings screen, tooltips, hotkey names,
the overlay messages and every command response.
The README now also explains how to add another language, which needs no code at all:
copy en_us.json, translate the values, save it as UTF-8 under the language code you
want. Minecraft falls back to English for any key a file does not have, so a partial
translation works and can be filled in later.
Requires Fabric API, Cloth Config and Java 25. Mod Menu and Simple Voice Chat are
optional.
3.1.0 for Minecraft 26.2
Adds the one place an ignored player could still reach you.
Added
-
Mute in Simple Voice Chat. An ignored player is set to 0% in
Simple Voice Chat and back to 100% once
they leave the ignore list. Off by default, and does nothing without that mod
installed./ignoring togglevoicechatflips it without opening the settings screen.Only players muted this way are ever turned back up, so a volume set by hand in the
voice chat screen is left alone. Turning the option off, or leaving the world,
restores everything it silenced rather than leaving someone muted behind.Simple Voice Chat is a compile time dependency only and is not shipped.
Changed
- Releases no longer carry the sources jar. It was only good for reading the code in an
IDE, and it carries afabric.mod.jsonwhose version is still an unexpanded
placeholder, so putting it in a mods folder handed the loader a second, broken copy of
this mod. The source archives GitHub attaches to every release are unaffected.
Requires Fabric API, Cloth Config and Java 25. Mod Menu and Simple Voice Chat are
optional.
3.0.0 for Minecraft 26.2
Same feature set as 2.2.0 with a reworked command interface, plus the rendering gaps
that in game testing turned up.
Breaking
- Commands moved from
/!ignoring:addignoreto/ignoring addignore. They are now
subcommands of a single root that tab completes at every step and prints the command
list when run on its own. Anything bound to the old form needs updating.
Fixed
- Armour, elytra and capes stayed solid while the player's own model was already
transparent - Held items stayed solid at any transparency between 1 and 254
- Saving from the settings screen silently did nothing, for every option
- The commands were documented without their leading slash
Requires Fabric API, Cloth Config and Java 25. Mod Menu is optional.
2.2.0 for Minecraft 26.2
First working build of Ignoring on Minecraft 26.2.
Minecraft 26.2 ships unobfuscated, so Yarn no longer publishes mappings for it and the
whole mod was moved onto Mojang's official names. The renderer also split into a submit
phase and an execute phase, which is what most of the porting work went into.
Ported
- Chat, tab list, click through, entity transparency, config screen and hotkeys
- Loom without a remapping step, Java 25, Gradle 9.5.1, loader 0.19.5,
Fabric API 0.159.0+26.2, Cloth Config 26.2.155, Mod Menu 20.0.1
Added
!ignoring:version, printing the installed build- Options to hide server drawn name plates and particles around ignored players
- Name suggestions on the ignore commands
- CI that builds the mod and boots the client to check every mixin still applies
Removed
- The two Sodium compatibility mixins. Sodium 0.9.x for 26.2 no longer has the hooks
they attached to, and no longer replaces the path they were compensating for.
Requires Fabric API, Cloth Config and Java 25. Mod Menu is optional.
