TinkerGame is a Linux wrapper for the Steam client that lets you customize how games launch, right from the point where Steam hands a game over to Proton. That means you can drop in per-game settings for tools like GameScope, MangoHud, winetricks, mod managers, FSR, and a lot more without touching a single Steam launch option by hand.

The configuration system is built around a central config directory and per-game override files, so it is easy to set up once, and flexible enough to bend around whatever your games need. Every game can have its own saved GUI, target Proton build, environment variables, launch commands, and post-launch tools.

For general information and the full command reference, see the Readme, and start with the Installation wiki page to get TinkerGame running first.

TinkerGame is a fork of SteamTinkerLaunch, which was originally created by Frostworx and is currently maintained by sonic2kk.

Features

Everything below is organized by category, matching the menus you will find inside TinkerGame itself. Most categories also exist as a TinkerGame internal Category, so the structure here mirrors the GUI you use day to day.

Not every option has its own wiki page, but the ones that do are linked from the relevant category below. A few options are used in two places at once, because they fit (partly) into more than one category; they are simply listed in each place they apply.

All pages are available from the sidebar, and almost every TinkerGame window opens the matching wiki page when you press the F1-Hotkey.

Corrections and additions to the wiki are welcome, either by opening an issue or a pull request.
