GUI:
Set RUN_WINETRICKS to 1 to start the winetricks GUI before game launch.
Silent winetricks installation:

WINETRICKSPAKS: install all packages in WINETRICKSPAKS silently with winetricks
Set DLWINETRICKS to 1 to download and automatically update winetricks instead of using/depending on the system-wide installation.

A nice winetricks configuration GUI, where packages and the Proton version can be selected, can also be opened directly from the main settings menu:
Following options are available:
By default, the Proton/Wine used for installing packages into the Wineprefix is the same one the game currently uses.
The GUI offers the option to override the "winetricks" version via a dropdown menu.
If the optional "Save winetricks proton" box is checked, the selected override will be used automatically by default (in this GUI) to INSTALL additional packages later
(so the user doesn't have to remember which version was used before and doesn't have to set it again).
Choose from the "Winetricks category" dropdown menu which (winetricks internal category) packages should be opened in the Package selection by clicking the SELECT button.
All packages selected for Installation will be listed under "Currently selected packages".
The menu can be exited by using the DONE button. If any selected packages were not installed yet, they will be installed before the next game launch.
Using the INSTALL button, it is possible to install all selected packages at once, so they will not be installed before the next game launch but rather right away.
The package selection GUI looks more or less like the original winetricks counterpart.
