Rumble Roses XX Recomp v1.3: lighter menus + DLSS 5 add-on
Rumble Roses XX Recomp v1.3: lighter menus + DLSS 5 add-on (optional)
This download contains no game files. You need your own legally obtained copy of the game (disc image .iso,
the USA/Japan v2 release the recomp is built for).
New in v1.3
- Less GPU load in menus: the recomp used to redraw the same frame as fast as your monitor allowed (165-240 times a
second on fast screens) while its notification overlay was idle. It now draws once per game frame. Gameplay is
unchanged; GPU use and heat in menus go down. - Optional DLSS 5 add-on: play at 4K, 60 fps with NVIDIA DLSS 5 neural rendering on RTX cards (details below).
Your normal launch doesn't change, and saves and mods are shared. - Launcher, game program (
rumble_roses_xx.exe) and mod pack are the same as v1.2.
Install / update
- Updating from v1.2: copy
game\rexruntime.dllfromRRXX-Recomp-2026-10-18.zipover your old one. That's the
only changed file (don't unzip the whole folder over your install: that would reset your settings file). - New install: unzip
RRXX-Recomp-2026-10-18.zipanywhere, run RRXX Launcher.exe, choose your ISO on the
Setup tab. Optional mod pack: still v1.2 (Mod packs tab).
DLSS 5 add-on (optional, RRXX-DLSS5-Addon-2026-10-18.zip)
What you need
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX card (RTX 40/50 recommended; RTX 20/30 are much slower) and a current driver.
- The recomp v1.2 or v1.3 set up with the launcher.
- Your own
nvngx_dlssnr.dll(the DLSS 5 model file). It is not included and the setup doesn't download it.
RTX 50 can use NVIDIA's original 310.8 file. RTX 20/30/40 need the "compatibility" build (the tested one is
310.9.16, SHA-256CDFA6C1EC784867182164C7836F324F087B5C9F374D0C9FE46F54999FEABF3ED). Known builds and hashes are in
OptiScaler-NR's INSTALL-DLSSNR.md. - NVIDIA Smooth Motion off for this game.
Install the add-on
- Unzip
RRXX-DLSS5-Addon-2026-10-18.zipinto your recomp folder (the one withRRXX Launcher.exeandgame). - Run Setup DLSS 5.bat. First pick your
nvngx_dlssnr.dll. The setup then downloads about 195 MB from the
official pages and checks every file against a fixed SHA-256:
ReShade 6.8.0 (add-on build),
DLSS5-Feeder 1.19.0,
OptiScaler-NR 0.8.92,
NVIDIA DLSS 310.9.16,
LumeniteFX and three
ReShade shader headers.
Everything goes into thedlss5folder. Nothing is installed system-wide, and you don't need admin rights. - Play with Play with DLSS 5.bat.
In game, F9 turns DLSS 5 on/off, F10 opens the DLSS 5 settings panel, Home opens ReShade and F4 opens
the recomp menu as usual.
The game renders at 2560x1440 and DLSS 5 outputs 4K. On an RTX 4090 that holds 60 fps in matches. The add-on
brings the v1.3 runtime DLL for its own launch, so it also works on a v1.2 install (without the menu fix, DLSS 5 ran
two or three times per frame).
To remove it, delete the dlss5 folder, Setup DLSS 5.bat and Play with DLSS 5.bat.
Known issues
- Tested on one PC (RTX 4090, Windows 11, 4K). Other cards and resolutions are untested.
- DLSS 5 is experimental third-party software, not an NVIDIA release.
- On RTX 40 with the compatibility build, changing Passes or Style while playing twice hung the DLSS 5 helper in
testing. The game keeps running without DLSS 5; restart it. Keep the defaults (1 pass, Standard). - Overlays (RivaTuner first) can break the ReShade layer. Close them if the game won't start with DLSS 5.
