Codifix 3.0.0

Codifix 3.0.0 is the stable release of the renamed product. Verify every
download against the published SHA256SUMS and individual checksum files, and
use release-inventory.json to identify the exact source commit and artifact
metadata. The source commit is intentionally taken from that inventory rather
than inferred from a tag or version string.

Changes since the release candidate

This release includes the fixes completed after v3.0.0-rc.1: Mac handoff boolean
serialization and fresh-device binding, active agent-bootstrap behavior and MCP
tool naming, journal lock release, and CI fixture reliability. The release
continues to include database migrations through 0085; it adds no migrations
beyond 0085.

Codifix 3 is a breaking technical rename from Memory Layer. Existing Memory
Layer installations require a reviewed reinstall and recovery procedure; the
packages do not perform an in-place product migration. Preserve and verify a
matched recovery set before a cutover. See the
reinstall procedure and
release compatibility guide.

Platform packages and limits

  • Linux: Debian packages are available for amd64 and arm64. Debian filenames
use codifix_3.0.0_ARCH.deb. PostgreSQL with pgvector is a separate
    prerequisite.
  • macOS: Intel and Apple Silicon standard and application-update packages
are available. They are unsigned and not notarized. Standard packages do not
bundle PostgreSQL; application-update packages preserve the existing Codifix
    runtime they update.
  • Windows: x86_64 ZIP, MSI and server-tools MSI packages are preview
artifacts. The MSI is build 2 and uses MSI version 3.0.2. Windows remains a
preview and does not include a complete PostgreSQL/PDS/Pi stack. Windows
    packages are unsigned.

Homebrew builds the stable v3.0.0 source archive with a pinned SHA-256 checksum.
The native Mac onboarding journey remains an optional
separately scoped capability; its guide records its acceptance limits. No broad
native parity or live-upgrade claim is made.

Verify

Download assets only from the
Codifix 3.0.0 release.
Check SHA256SUMS, the matching sidecar checksum, and the release inventory
before installing. Checksums establish content consistency, not publisher
identity.

Release verification

Published from source 2fdaf43f5d24e4dfe28a0ad99468a62f7948af5e after all
11 release jobs
passed. Linux amd64/arm64 installation checks, both Mac native package checks
and Windows preview acceptance passed. All 43 uploaded assets were downloaded
from the draft release and matched the verified candidate byte for byte before
publication as stable/latest. The published packages were not rebuilt during
promotion.

The Homebrew formula on main pins the published source archive and checksum.
Its Ruby syntax and the installer shell syntax were checked; a native Homebrew
installation was not run as part of this release. Existing fleet installations
were not upgraded by publishing these packages.

@3vilM33pl3 3vilM33pl3 released this 18 Oct 07:49
66c2d1e

Codifix 3.0.0-rc.1

Release candidate. Codifix 3.0.0-rc.1 is the first distribution under the
Codifix name. Packages are built from immutable source
66c2d1ecc4ca9b0c052e1d854f71a0703f998b71. All 11 jobs in
release run 39073102523
passed, including source/security validation, native package checks and final
artifact collection. This is a prerelease, not stable 3.0.0.

What changes

Codifix 3.0.0 is a breaking technical rename from Memory Layer. Product-owned
commands, package identities, service names, configuration paths and federation
enrolment names use Codifix identities. The old Memory Layer packages are not
upgraded in place, and Codifix does not provide old command aliases. Treat the
move as an explicit single-user reinstall and cutover, following the
release-specific reinstall procedure.

The rename preserves canonical and received knowledge, memory_entries,
existing content and attachments, and established identifiers. Existing
federation records and their signed history remain available as historical
evidence. Retirement disables old subscriptions and contribution bindings,
blocks unfinished source and publication work, invalidates old leases and
rotates the reviewed gateway epoch. Old queued, accepted and proposed payloads
are retained with their original bindings; they are not moved into a new
enrolment or published as new work. Participating instances require fresh,
explicit enrolment and sharing grants before federation resumes. See the
federation cutover operator guide.

The cutover keeps area topology and canonical/auth/area identifiers intact.
Database names and roles remain unchanged except for the exact product-owned
macOS onboarding names documented in the reinstall procedure. Previously
published releases, their artifacts, signatures and release notes are unchanged.

Reinstall and recovery

Back up and verify a matched recovery set before retiring the old installation:
database snapshot, configuration, environment files, state, credentials, service
definitions, active-state inventory and exact old executables. Keep the old
release packages and manifests unchanged. Stop and inventory old writers,
watchers, schedulers and federation workers before the cutover. Do not purge old
configuration or state, and do not enable previously inactive services as part
of reinstall. The detailed procedure covers Linux, macOS and Windows-specific
steps and recovery limits.

Platform status

Linux amd64/arm64 builds and package installation checks passed. Intel and Apple
Silicon macOS standard/application-update package checks passed. The macOS
packages are unsigned and are not notarized; they do not bundle PostgreSQL.
Windows ZIP, user MSI and server-tools MSI checks passed; Windows remains a
preview and does not bundle the full PostgreSQL/PDS/Pi stack. Windows build 1
uses MSI version 3.0.1. The Windows packages are also unsigned.

Use release-inventory.json, SHA256SUMS and the individual checksum files
published alongside the assets to verify the exact source and package bytes.
Neither native macOS pixel-level UI acceptance nor CA-host deployment is claimed.

Preserved-installation tooling

The running Monolith and Mac cutovers preserve existing knowledge, identities,
history and recovery copies. The Mac has passed actual read/sync, restart and
Workshop contribution checks. Its private app build is not a notarized release.

Two subsequent operational fixes are intentionally separate from the frozen
candidate: PostgreSQL boolean serialization in the Mac handover helper, and the
reviewed fresh-device local binding transition. Existing populated installations
must use the operator guide pinned at 269f419e
and its adjacent scripts. These fixes are not contained in the candidate source
archive and do not change the tested package executables. Later agent-bootstrap
wording and tool-name fixes are on main; they are not claimed as candidate bytes.

The CA/Trust installation remains on its existing version pending separate
approval. SSH there remains disabled.

Earlier releases

This candidate does not rewrite or replace the 2.1.0 release note, previously
published packages, signatures or release manifests.

Debian download filenames

GitHub replaces ~ with . in release asset names. The Debian downloads are
therefore codifix_3.0.0.rc.1_amd64.deb and
codifix_3.0.0.rc.1_arm64.deb; their .sha256 sidecars use the same spelling.
Package contents and the frozen checksum/inventory files are unchanged. The
Debian package version is still 3.0.0~rc.1, preserving prerelease ordering.

Save the download with its original name before checking the checksum. For amd64:

curl -fL -o 'codifix_3.0.0~rc.1_amd64.deb' 'https://github.com/3vilM33pl3/codifix/releases/download/v3.0.0-rc.1/codifix_3.0.0.rc.1_amd64.deb'
curl -fL -o 'codifix_3.0.0~rc.1_amd64.deb.sha256' 'https://github.com/3vilM33pl3/codifix/releases/download/v3.0.0-rc.1/codifix_3.0.0.rc.1_amd64.deb.sha256'
sha256sum -c 'codifix_3.0.0~rc.1_amd64.deb.sha256'

Replace amd64 with arm64 for ARM. If using all assets and the aggregate
SHA256SUMS, restore the two Debian packages and their sidecars to the original
~rc.1 names first. All 43 downloaded files matched the original candidate bytes
after this exact four-name mapping; no package was rebuilt.

Memory Layer v2.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Oct 11:56
a500aa7

Memory Layer 2.1.0

Stable application release for Linux and macOS, with Windows x64 preview
packages. All artifacts come from the same release commit and locked dependency
graph. Installing/upgrading existing named instances is a separate operator step.

Highlights

  • Private ATProto federation, reviewed collections and explicit cited expertise
questions across independently owned knowledge areas.
  • Company users/projects/devices administration, browser login and selective
project onboarding, offline curated knowledge and recoverable contributions.
  • Durable background jobs, transactional events, visible inspection/retry and
isolated evaluation tooling. This is not a new paid R3 result or an ROI claim.
  • Synchronized knowledge in the main Memories view, desktop-session watcher
labels and memory urls for UI-first entry-point discovery.
  • Dependency security fixes across Rust, Web, documentation and native PDS
preparation, while preserving the protocol/source baselines.

Choose your package

Platform Artifact
Linux amd64 memory-layer_2.1.0_amd64.deb
Linux arm64 memory-layer_2.1.0_arm64.deb
Mac Intel memory-layer-2.1.0-macos-x86_64.pkg
Mac Apple Silicon memory-layer-2.1.0-macos-aarch64.pkg
Existing bundled Mac Matching Mac -application-update.pkg
Windows x64 preview memory-layer-2.1.0-windows-x86_64-build.1.zip or .msi
Windows server tools preview memory-layer-2.1.0-windows-x86_64-build.1-server-tools.msi
Source / Homebrew memory-2.1.0.tar.gz

Standard packages require separately configured PostgreSQL/pgvector. They do not
provision a complete local stack or enable paid providers. Mac application-update
packages preserve existing bundled runtime/data; standard Mac packages refuse
to overwrite that runtime. Git credentials and provider configuration remain
your own. Windows ARM64 and 32-bit operating systems are not release targets.

Verify and upgrade

Verify the downloaded artifacts against SHA256SUMS (or their individual
.sha256 files). release-inventory.json records exact sizes, digests and source
commit; Windows additionally has a payload/installer manifest. Linux build
metadata and ABI reports accompany the packages.

Back up the selected installation's database/configuration before upgrading.
Version 2.1.0 embeds append-only migrations through 0084. Do not downgrade an
executable against an upgraded database. Once new work has been accepted,
preserve it and recover forward. Named instances keep independently pinned
executables until explicitly upgraded; do not use restart-all as an upgrade.
Check memory --version, memory doctor, memory health and a real local query
after the selected installation is upgraded.

Signing and limitations

These release packages use the existing unsigned packaging route: no Developer
ID notarization, Authenticode signature or new GPG release signature is claimed
.
Mac helper ad-hoc code signatures are not publisher identity verification.
Checksums establish content consistency, not independent publisher identity.
No signing keys, trust roots or verification policies were changed for release.

Windows packages contain client/operator executables, Web assets and skills;
native_stack_bundled is false. The server-tools MSI is not a complete native
PostgreSQL/PDS/Pi installer. Full supervisor isolation, full-stack deployment,
onboarding/recovery and native parity remain unfinished, not stable guarantees.
Both ZIP and MSI variants require the separately installed
Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 Redistributable.
Use the latest supported x64 package; it must be at least as recent as the
MSVC build tools used for the application. The Windows manifest reports actual
direct DLL imports, but the packages do not bundle or install the CRT. Hosted
build-machine tests do not establish clean-PC runtime acceptance.

The remaining upstream RSA private-key timing advisory
RUSTSEC-2023-0071
has no patched dependency version. Memory's inspected OIDC path verifies with
public keys rather than performing the affected private-key operation. The
original audit remains visible; it is not described as clean. The lockfile also
retains a yanked spin 0.9.8 warning.

Repository PDS preparation fixes do not automatically update an existing Linux
PDS container or previously prepared Windows runtime. No existing Monolith, CA
or Mac service, dataset, credentials, sharing permission or paid-model policy
was changed by publishing this release.

@3vilM33pl3 3vilM33pl3 released this 05 Jul 12:04
8d361b9

First stable release of Memory Layer: local-first, project-scoped memory for coding agents.

Highlights

  • Self-maintaining memory (new) — memories earn an activation score through real usage (retrievals, answer citations), activation spreads to linked memories and decays over time, and hot memories are re-validated against project evidence (sources, provenance, git history) by an opt-in LLM pipeline. Weak evidence never rewrites content — it flags the memory for review. New commands: memory scores, memory validate, memory review; new [reinforcement] config section (scoring on by default, validation opt-in and dry-run first).
  • Hybrid retrieval (full-text + embeddings + code graph) with ranking diagnostics, provenance verification, and replacement-proposal curation.
  • Terminal UI, browser UI with 3D graph explorer, watchers, loop automations, and a read-only MCP server.

Install

Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo dpkg -i memory-layer_1.0.0_amd64.deb

macOS:

brew tap 3vilM33pl3/memory https://github.com/3vilM33pl3/memory
brew install 3vilM33pl3/memory/memory-layer

Requires PostgreSQL with pgvector. Full instructions and upgrade notes: see the documentation site or docs/user/.

Known issues

  • Four loop_repository integration tests fail on PostgreSQL 17 (FOR UPDATE on the nullable side of an outer join); loop approval flows are unaffected in normal use but this is tracked for a point release.
  • Windows packaging is prepared but not yet released.
