Setup and AI workflow guide · Create your first game
After installation, start with your first game. See the installation FAQ for troubleshooting.
You do not need a separate Git or ESP-IDF installation. JSON files, the manager ZIP and checksums support installation and updates; manual downloads are unnecessary.
GitHub's automatically generated Source code archives contain repository sources, not the SDK distribution.
What's new
- Runtime-owned gamepads combine touch controls, keys and physical gamepad input. Input 1.1 adds analog-axis events; use companion firmware 0.9.3 for the new Host input support.
- Shared SDK helpers cover game math, deterministic random numbers, fixed-capacity pools, tone sequencing, bounded text and launch arguments.
Sensors::OpenFirstdiscovers typed sensors and configures their sampling interval.TiltFilterprovides calibration, smoothing and a deadzone for motion controls.- Surface canvas adoption and coordinate helpers keep raster drawing and input aligned with the display configuration. See the SDK capability catalog before adding app-local helpers.
- Firmware 0.9.3 preinstalls Jump Jump and Gravity Balls in place of Tomb Explorer. Tomb Explorer remains available as SDK example source. Existing installed Bundles are preserved by Host-only updates.
Installation and compatibility
Existing projects remain version-pinned; upgrades and rollbacks are explicit. Upgrading from 0.16.0 still requires running the new installer to fix Ctrl-C handling in the launcher.
The Windows installer is unsigned. Windows 11 and some S31/S3 acceptance checks are complete; Windows 10 and remaining manual checks are still pending.
Automated installation lifecycle checks and builds for both architectures passed. Verification fixtures and evidence are maintained separately from user downloads.
