- Apart from OIT video-conferencing described below, we also support a number of third-party applications which include:
- Zoom
- Google Hangouts + Google Meet
- Skype
- GoTo Meeting
- If you have an account with any of the above services or any other service that operates entirely in a modern web browser, you can use that service in Vis Space.
- Google Meet allows you to set up a meeting room ahead of time and provide participants with a link, allowing asynchronous calls
- Please go here to learn how to share screen content
For scheduling a video conference through the University's system wide video conferencing network please contact OIT:
- To file a formal request with OIT, please go to: The Communication & Collaboration page
- You will need to know the location you would like to connect to.
- If you would like the conference streamed or recorded, let OIT know during your initial request.
- Video conference requests should be made 48 hours in advance to allow for appropriate configuration time.
- If your conference is scheduled for a time outside of standard business hours, or involves a request for an extended or rural University of Alaska campus, K-12 School Access site, or a site outside the state please allow 7 days in advance for preparation.
- The Audio System is connected to a phone line which is controlled through the touch panel and via the iPad
- Calls can be made from either interface by opening the "Phone" menu and adding "9" as a prefix to any number outside the university
- To receive calls, the system's number is (907) 474-1102
- The room is also equipped with a Cisco teleconference unit. To use it on its own, you do not need to schedule with OIT.
- Use the "9" prefix to dial outside of the university
- The unit's number is (907) 474-6459
- If you would like to use this unit in addition to your video conference, give the number to OIT during your video conference request
