Signing In

Setup is short. You give Home Assistant the email address of your Philips account, Philips emails you a code, and you type it in. There is nothing to extract from the app, no token to find, and no developer account needed.

Steps

1. Go to Settings, then Devices & Services.
2. Click Add Integration at the bottom right.
3. Search for Philips Pet Series and select it.
4. Type the email address of your Philips or home.id account. Use the same one you use in the phone app.
5. Philips sends a one-time code to that address. Check your inbox, and the spam folder if it does not show up.
6. Type the code into Home Assistant and confirm.

That is it. Every home on your account, and every supported device in those homes, is added for you. You do not repeat this per feeder.

Staying signed in

The integration refreshes your session quietly in the background, so under normal use you sign in once and never think about it again.

If the session does expire, for example after a long outage or a password change, Home Assistant puts a Reconfigure notice on the integration. Click it, ask for a fresh code, and you are back. Your devices, entity names and automations all survive this. Nothing gets renamed or recreated.

Does this log me out of the app?

No. Home Assistant gets its own session. The phone app keeps working exactly as before.

The one thing that can interfere is the live camera stream, because the feeder only accepts a small number of video connections at a time. That is explained on The Camera page.

Options you can change later

Open Settings, then Devices & Services, find Philips Pet Series and click Configure.

Camera streaming. Choose when the integration connects to the camera:

• On demand, the default. Connects only while something is watching, and releases the connection shortly after you stop.
• Always on. Holds the connection open all the time. Use this if a recorder such as Frigate needs the stream to be there permanently.
• Disabled. No live video at all. The snapshot image still works.

Camera idle timeout. How long to keep the connection open after the last viewer goes away, between 1 and 60 minutes. The default of 5 minutes is a decent balance. Raise it if you flip between dashboard views a lot and find the stream reconnecting; lower it to hand the camera back to the phone app faster.

Adding a second account

Run Add Integration again with the other email address. Multiple Philips accounts can live side by side.
