New: My Servers extension (official)
Pick an instance and jump straight into the game.
- Servers tab - your saved servers with live status (MOTD, players, ping).
Hit Play to launch and auto-connect. - Worlds tab - your singleplayer worlds with last-played dates. Hit
Play to launch directly into the world (Minecraft 1.20+). - Server lists load fast and revisits are instant thanks to concurrent
pinging with per-server timeouts plus smart caching.
New: extension APIs for server & launch features
servers:list/ping/listWithStatus(bulk ping, cached),
servers:manage(create/delete/read/write server files),
servers:process(start/stop/console/EULA, max 2 servers),
saves:list(world metadata),instances:launch(quick-connect).- Aether-SDK 1.2.0 published with full types, permission probes, and a
createIframeBridge()helper that bakes in the correct UI↔backend
messaging rules.
Fixed
- Extension UIs timing out with "Request timed out" due to postMessage
origin/marker mismatches - messaging rules corrected and documented. - Server rows showing
null • offline- bridge structs now expose the
documented lowercase field names. - Restored the truncated Skin Maker backend script.
- Themes, game console (Log4j parsing, scroll, preserved logs), checksum
verification, macOS titlebars/text selection/clipping, dropdown
behaviour, memory labels, and Modrinth instance filtering (see
CHANGELOG for the full list).
For extension developers
See docs/API.md (servers, worlds, quick-launch), docs/SERVER_MANAGER_UI.md
(corrected IPC protocol - read §3 before building a sidebar UI), and the
My Servers source in extensions-src/my-servers/ as a reference implementation.
- Feature/servers api by @wayback09 in #42

Highlights
Modern Linux Support (WebKit2GTK 4.1)
- Migrated Linux binaries and AppImage packaging to WebKit2GTK 4.1 (
-tags webkit2_41). - Resolves crashes and missing shared library errors on modern Linux distributions (Ubuntu 24.04+, Fedora 39+, Arch Linux, and Debian 13+) where the deprecated
libwebkit2gtk-4.0was removed from package repositories.
Modular Home Dashboard & Widgets
Added an optional modular widgets system to the Home overview:
- Recent Instances & Quick-Play: Quick-launch cards for recently played instances with single-click start.
- Screenshot Showcase: In-app gallery previewing recent in-game screenshots with a full-size lightbox viewer and one-click copy to clipboard.
- Live Services Status: Real-time reachability and latency monitors for Mojang & Minecraft servers (Authentication, Sessions, Textures, API).
- News & Updates Feed: Integrated with Mojang's modern v2 news feed (
v2/news.json) for real-time Minecraft patch notes, snapshot updates, and official Aether release announcements. - Privacy & Layout Control: All dashboard widgets are disabled by default. You can selectively enable or disable individual widgets in Settings -> Home Dashboard.
