Every arena has a text file containing a bunch of values used to setup several important points in the arena including spawn points, weapons spawns, and flag spawns. Opening up one of the arena data files it will look like this;

The first 10 lines are the x and y positions for weapon spawns going in the following order;

  • Railgun
  • Shotgun
  • Rocket Launcher
  • Grenade Launcher
  • Plasma Gun

The next two lines (12 - 13) are the flag spawn x and y coordinates. Please note, at the moment gamemodes with flags will not spawn with a railgun, in most of the default arenas the flag takes the place of the railgun, this will change soon.

Lines 15 to 22 are the x and y coordinates for the player spawns starting at player 1 and going to player 4.

The next 4 sets of 4 numbers are the x1, y1, x2, and y2 values for the spawn protection rectangles, when enemy players are within the spawn protection rectangle the corresponding spawn is not usable.

The image below shows how you should take coordinates for each data set. The purple dot is where you should be taking the coordinates from for each data set.

The green squares are the player spawns, player sprites are 64x64 and centered. Yellow boxes are the weapon spawns, they are also 64x64 but have a origin of (0, 0) so you should be taking their coordinates from the top left. The middle weapon spawn represents the Railgun so the flag will replace it in flag based gamemodes, the flag is centered and is 8x8.

Finally the red boxes are the spawn protection areas which have two coordinates to form the rectangle, the top left and the bottom right, going from x1 to y2 will form the 4 numbers you need for a spawn protection area.
