Thrilled to announce the initial public release of Pixel Camera v1.0.0!

This release backports next-generation Google Pixel 11 camera features—including Camera Looks, Viewfinder Quick Access Controls, 5x Optical Telephoto Portrait, and the Creator Suite—to older Tensor devices (Pixel 6 through Pixel 10), completely usable without root!

What's New in v1.0.0

1. Ten Signature "Camera Looks" (Sauce & Tomte)

  • Real-time Viewfinder Rendering: Live preview and hardware-accelerated processing of all 10 color and tone styles.
  • Full Preset Spectrum:
    • Original — Classic true-to-life Google HDR+.
    • Natural — Subtle softening with neutral, true skin tones.
    • Shadows — Punchy, moody contrast and deep blacks.
    • Vanilla — Warm, golden-hour radiance with soft ambient glow.
    • Editorial — Kodachrome-inspired magazine colors and rich contrast.
    • Velvet — Saturated landscape tones reminiscent of Fuji Velvia.
    • Classic — Timeless analog film aesthetic inspired by Kodak Portra.
    • Digi — Early-2000s compact digital camera punch and flare.
    • Black Tie — Fine-grain, high-contrast monochrome dynamic range.
    • Minimal — Clean, desaturated Scandinavian aesthetic.
  • Universal Tensor Engine: Automatic fallback execution on Mali-G715 / Immortalis GPU and multi-threaded Halide CPU workers on Tensor G1–G4 devices without vendor HAL dependencies.

2. Viewfinder Quick Access Controls & Discrete Tick-Slider

  • Custom Viewfinder Shortcuts: Assign Left and Right quick shortcuts directly in Camera Settings (Settings → Fast access → Quick access controls).
  • On-Screen Tick Slider: Tap anywhere on the viewfinder to reveal the vertical 10-tick slider—scrub through all Looks seamlessly without diving into menus.
  • Haptic Feedback: Tactile feedback on slider detents with persistent preference memory across app restarts.

3. 5x Optical Telephoto Portrait Mode & 10x Quick Zoom

  • True 5x Optical Telephoto Bokeh: Unlocks physical periscope portrait captures (RAW_TELE + PD_TELE) on Pixel 7 Pro, 8 Pro, 9 Pro, and 10 Pro—breaking the 1.5x / 2.0x digital crop restriction.
  • Dedicated 10x Quick Zoom Viewfinder Button: Instant 1-tap Super Res Zoom toggle on the viewfinder (0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x) powered by Google's NativeZoomPlus and NativeFusionZoom pipelines.

4. Pixel Camera Creator Suite

  • Teleprompter HUD (biotite): Viewfinder script overlay with auto-scrolling, customizable WPM speed, and inline script editing.
  • Live Audio VU Meter (mica): Real-time microphone input volume indicator rendered over the viewfinder.
  • Social Framing Guides (slate): Quick grid overlays for 9:16 vertical video, 1:1 square, and standard ratios.

5. Dual Installation (Standalone Clone APK)

  • Renamed package namespace to com.google.android.GoogleCameraEng allowing side-by-side installation with your stock Google Camera app.
  • No root, Magisk, or Bootloader unlocking required.
