Highlights & Critical Fixes

Fixed Startup Crash on Pixel 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL & Pixel 8 Pro (knq VerifyError)

• Root Cause: In the 10x Viewfinder Quick Zoom patch, register v5 was overwritten with an object reference (Lyqc), clobbering the primitive Float (2.0f) expected by gei.o(FLabjo;)V. This caused Android ART's verifier to reject class knq with a fatal java.lang.VerifyError during camera startup.
• Resolution: Rebuilt ZoomControllers.dex with safe register routing (v11), ensuring primitive float v5 is intact. Applied the same register protection to knk (Pixel 7 Pro).

Preserved Stock Tensor G4 Capabilities on Pixel 9 Series

• Ensured stock vku.g and vku.f hardware capability flags are preserved on Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro devices to prevent unintended fallback to Tensor G3 profiles.

Fixed 64-bit Pointer Register Pair in Camera Looks (mtt.K)

• Resolved a register overlap in mtt.K (ShotParams_tomte_type_set) by moving the look ID scratch register to v15, ensuring the 64-bit wide register pair (v6:v7) remains uncorrupted.

Viewfinder & Quick Access Null-Safety Hardening

• Removed legacy EvCompView.onMeasure bytecode hook that triggered verification conflicts on Android 15.
• Added null-safety checks across Viewfinder Quick Access and Camera Looks initialization paths to prevent startup NPEs.

• Viewfinder Tap-to-Focus Sliders Restored: Resolved the issue where the dual sliders were missing from the viewfinder. Sliders now reliably appear on tap-to-focus across all modes.
• Full Dynamic Exposure Range: Restored full range on both sliders:
  • Brightness: -4.0 to +4.0 stops.
  • Shadow: Linearized HDR+ shadow boost up to 15.3x.
• Bidirectional Synchronization: Viewfinder on-screen knobs and bottom sheet drawers now share the exact same underlying HAL observables—scrubbing either slider updates the other instantly in real time.
• Camera2 HAL Preview Integration: Decoupled DualEvCtrl from twilight flags (ptm.g = false), allowing real-time tone mapping previews directly in the viewfinder.

3. Pixel 10 & Pro 12MP Photo Saving Fix

• Fixed an issue on Pixel 10 / Tensor G5 hardware where 12MP captures failed to save or froze during post-processing.
• Disabled incompatible Tensor G5-exclusive pipelines (camera.ceftazidime = 0 Flare Removal and camera.use_eclipse = 0 Eclipse AE).
• Injected fallbacks for binned RAW stream dimensions (tele_binned_raw_width = 2016, tele_binned_raw_height = 1512, binned_row_start = 0) to ensure zero capture drops.

Critical Fixes

Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro 1× Photo Saving

Fixed an issue where photos captured at 1× zoom could fail to save to MediaStore or disappear after capture. Photos captured at 5× and 10× could occasionally save successfully.

Root Cause

The GCAM HDR+ post-processing pipeline was aborting during FinishShot because of an unhandled exception:

IllegalStateException:
Unable to open Flare Removal model asset file
(ceftazidime_*.uncompressed)

The missing asset was requested by the Pixel 10 / Pixel 10 Pro hardware profile when processing wide-lens captures.

Fixes Applied

• Added a fail-safe return inside mkm.j to prevent FinishShot from being aborted by flare-removal processing.

• Updated the ejn device profiles for:

  • Pixel 10 (Blake)
  • Pixel 10 Pro (Frankel)

• Disabled:

  • camera.ceftazidime_enabled
  • camera.decepticon_enabled

• Cleared references to missing uncompressed assets.

• Added runtime overrides forcing the following flags to false:

  • camera.ceftazidime
  • camera.decepticon
  • camera.use_eclipse

• Added sensor stream fallbacks for binned RAW dimensions:

  • 0x7e0
  • 0x5e8

• Added protection against NullPointerException when telephoto stream pointers are unavailable.

• Pixel 10 / Pixel 10 Pro photo saving: Photo saving may still not work correctly on Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro devices. This issue is still under investigation and may require further fixes in a future release.
