Release list
Alchemist Coder 1.1.0
Alchemist Coder 1.1: the app in 11 languages, and a terminal that's always there.
New
- 11 languages. English, Español, Português (Brasil), Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Русский, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文 and हिन्दी: the whole app, its menu bar, and what automations tell you in notifications and on Telegram. It follows your system's language; pick another in Settings → Language. Counts read right in each language (Russian's three forms, Japanese and Chinese without plurals), and reset times use each language's units.
- The terminal never shows an empty black panel. A project whose terminals were all closed (the tab's ×, or the shell exiting) used to stay black with no prompt. Now a terminal opens whenever you go to Terminal with none open; closing the last one says so, with a New terminal button; and when the shell exits, Enter opens a new one in the same tab.
- "@ALL" in your language. In an assignment, @ALL (or the word for "all" in the app's language) sends a message to every agent.
- The status bar says "1 project" and "1 conversation", not "1 projects".

Alchemist Coder 1.0.0
Alchemist Coder 1.0, the first release: a free, open-source (AGPL-3.0) desktop app for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Grok Build, for macOS, Windows and Linux.
What it does
- One history for your coding agents. Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Grok Build conversations in one index on your computer, with full-text search. Your original files are only read. An optional versioned backup keeps what the CLIs delete.
- Every agent and subagent, live. Each conversation is a tree of the main agent, its subagents and theirs, with status, tokens, time and cost. A chat by agent puts each one in its own tab.
- Your organization of agents. A coordinator plans your assignment, you approve it, and your agents do the work, each with its role, model, permissions, projects and picture, in its own git copy. See it all as an org chart; the status bar tells you who's working and who needs you.
- Automations. Describe a routine in plain words and an agent draws it as a flow diagram. It runs every day, on some weekdays, every few minutes or nonstop, with a daily spending cap. You choose how much it decides alone, and its questions reach your Mac and your phone through your own Telegram bot.
- Arena. Several agents solve the same task, each in its own git worktree; compare their changes and tests and merge the best.
- A workspace for it all. Several projects at once, a Board of tasks by phase, a Git tab in plain words, an editor with your VS Code themes and a built-in terminal.
- Local models (Ollama, LM Studio) in the free Community edition. Agents run through the Agent Client Protocol, so you see their plan, tool calls, diffs and permission requests in the app.
New since 0.1.9
- Installers that open on a fresh machine. The Mac app is now signed ad hoc: downloaded, 0.1.9 could be reported as "damaged". The .deb declares the audio library Electron needs, and the AppImage no longer needs libfuse2 on Ubuntu 22.04 and later.
- Every installer is tested as you get it. Before a release, the DMG's app (with its signature checked), the Windows setup (installed silently), the .deb (through apt) and the AppImage are each installed and opened on a real machine of their platform.

Alchemist Coder 0.1.9
New in 0.1.9 (Community edition, beta, not signed yet). Includes 0.1.7 and 0.1.8.
- Automations. Steps drawn as a flow diagram that run on their own, with your organization's agents doing the work:
- Describe a routine in your own words and an agent draws it: who does what, when, what they decide and when to ask you. Change it the same way, or edit any step on the diagram.
- Ready-made flows: one agent on a schedule; the office on the Board, where a manager splits a goal into cards and your agents work through them like employees; or a goal it keeps working toward until it's met.
- Every day, every few minutes, on some weekdays or non-stop, with a daily spending cap.
- You choose how much it decides alone: careful, balanced or autonomous. Balanced asks you before any change goes into your project.
- Questions and notices reach your Mac and your phone: connect your own Telegram bot and answer with buttons, agents' permissions included.
- It keeps going: it can open at login, and the Mac stays awake while an automation is on. Each run shows step by step on the diagram.
- A picture for every agent. Use an image of yours or one of the app's. It shows on the organization chart, the agent's page, an assignment and the status bar.
- The organization as a chart. Give work in one box and stay on the chart: the coordinator, your agents and their teams, with what each one is doing right now. Drag an agent onto another to put it on its team, and approve the plan right there.
- A chat by agent. Tabs over the conversation for the main agent and each subagent. Where an agent launches a subagent, a card shows its task, progress, time and cost, and opens its chat.
- Who's working, in the status bar. Who needs you and who is working, across the organization, the Arena and your conversations; a click takes you there.
- Agents build on each other's work. An agent's own git copy now starts from your project as it is, uncommitted work included.
- Fixes: an assignment goes to the project you're in, and the Board keeps edits made by the window and by automations at the same time.

-
Git in plain words. A Git tab in the sidebar shows:
- which branch you're on, to switch or make a new one;
- what's waiting to push or pull;
- what isn't committed yet: open a file, or commit them;
- the history, with commits made by an agent marked;
- your branches and the agents' own copies.
From there you can check the remote, pull (fast-forward only, so nothing gets merged for you) and push. A project without git can start using it with one click. The status bar shows the branch, the changes and the commits left to push.
-
Panel edges you can see. Every panel edge has a line that's always visible, a grip in the middle and more room to grab. The conversation opened next to the board can now be resized too.

Alchemist Coder 0.1.5
New in 0.1.5 (Community edition, beta, not signed yet)
- Teams in your Organization.
- A top-level agent can lead its own team. From its row's + or its page, add a new agent to its team or move one of your agents onto it. ✕ takes one off.
- The coordinator sees who leads whom and gives a lead the whole piece of work. The lead hands parts of it to its team, then answers with the combined result.
- Teams are one level deep, like assignments. Deleting a lead sends its team back to the coordinator.
- Rename agents. In the Organization, from an agent's menu or with a double-click on its name.
- Name a conversation's agents. In the conversation tree, from an agent's menu or with a double-click, for example "Scribe" instead of "general". The name shows in the tree and in the conversation header. The conversation's files don't change, and an empty name brings the original back.

Alchemist Coder 0.1.4
New in 0.1.4 (Community edition, beta, not signed yet)
- Add and remove agents right in a conversation's tree.
- A + on the main agent (and on a wave of agents) opens Add an agent: pick a type, write the task, optionally in the background. The types are Claude Code's General, Explore and Plan, plus your own from
.claude/agents, in the project or in your home folder. - The main agent launches it with the Task tool, and it shows up in the tree.
- While the main agent works, the request waits in the queue.
- If the conversation is busy in another process (a terminal, another app), it isn't continued twice: the new agent starts in a copy with all its context. The message box also warns before you send there.
- On a finished subagent, ✕ takes it out of the list; Show brings it back, and the conversation itself doesn't change.
- On a working one, ■ stops it, after asking. Claude Code can only stop the whole turn, not a single subagent.
- A + on the main agent (and on a wave of agents) opens Add an agent: pick a type, write the task, optionally in the background. The types are Claude Code's General, Explore and Plan, plus your own from
- The + buttons use a plain "+" now: some Linux systems showed the old one as a box.

Alchemist Coder 0.1.3
New in 0.1.3 (Community edition, beta, not signed yet)
- Board (⌘9 / Ctrl+9). Every task and conversation by phase: Backlog, Planning, Implementing, Validating, Done.
- Conversations from the last three days show up on their own and move as their agents work.
- Write tasks down and hand one to an agent with Start: a new conversation opens with the task written in, and the card follows it.
- Each card has Open, Mark done and Reopen. When its agent is still working, the button is Stop and finish.
- A conversation opens in a panel next to the board, with its message box, so the board stays in view.
- Drag cards between phases. Columns fold into a thin strip. Repeated runs group into one card.
- This project or All projects, plus a filter.
- Chips under the message box:
- Agent or Plan mode, in one click;
- permissions;
- agent CLI and model in one menu;
- reasoning effort, when the model offers it;
- ⚡ Actions: ready-made prompts, plus your project's own in
ai-actions.md; - how full the context is (amber at 80%, red at 90%, with /compact).
- Fold the side panels.
- The sidebar folds with one button in the title bar, ⌘B, or by dragging its edge away. A thin edge brings it back.
- In Split view the agent panel folds with ⌘⌥B.
- Works on half a screen.
- The window goes down to 560 px wide.
- Below 1000 px the sidebar floats over the page (Esc closes it).
- The modes shrink to icons, then fit in one menu.
- Split view stacks.
- One set of icons. ✕ closes a panel or tab, ✓ finishes, → opens inside the app, ↗ opens outside, and chevrons fold. The sidebar tabs have real icons.
- Fixes:
- Secondary text on light themes now reads (translucent theme colors were measured as opaque).
- The context meter moved from the conversation header into the message box.

Alchemist Coder 0.1.2 (beta): Marketing mode, all projects at once
New in 0.1.2 (Community edition, beta, not signed yet)
- Marketing mode (⌘8 / Ctrl+8).
- A brand guide every agent reads (
marketing/BRAND.md). - A studio for X posts and threads, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok/Reels scripts, email, web copy, articles, App Store and Google Play listings and search metadata, with each network's real character limits and a preview.
- An editorial calendar (month and board).
- A marketing team in your Organization.
- "Write with agent" may only claim what the brand guide lists.
- Publishing opens X's or LinkedIn's composer with the text; the rest copies.
- A brand guide every agent reads (
- Every project's agents in one view. The sidebar switches between This project and All projects, and the home shows what's in progress, what needs you and the latest conversations across open projects.
- Conversations read as one document. No message cards or headers; time, model and actions show on hover.
- The + in the project rail starts a conversation, creates a new project (a folder, with Git), opens any folder or finds a project.
- New flask logo.
- Fixes:
- Readable secondary text on light themes.
- Nested lists render properly.
- The window no longer grows past its width.
- Background polling pauses while the app is hidden.

Fixes
- An agent's own copy (and Arena worktrees) find the right folder when the project path differs from the one git reports: opened through a symlink on macOS, or with short or differently written paths on Windows.
- Arena test commands with quotes run on Windows.
- Paths with backslashes work everywhere in the app (new file, rename, breadcrumbs, reviews, organization projects).
- Keyboard shortcuts read Ctrl+K, Ctrl+Shift+F… on Windows and Linux.
Pro (cloud models with your own accounts) is coming: https://coder.alekla.com
