Lost Signal VHS v1.7 — Composite Decode

A major realism update focused on the way real VHS and composite video signals behave.

Highlights

  • Motion-aware temporal history using depth and camera-matrix reprojection
  • Consumer notch and two-line comb decoder modes
  • Dot crawl, cross-color, and cross-luma artifacts
  • Persistent tape defects tied to virtual tape motion
  • New Composite Decode preset
  • Updated English and Russian settings and documentation
  • Important compatibility improvements for modern Minecraft rendering

Supported Minecraft versions

Designed for Minecraft Java 26.2, 26.1.2, 1.21.11, 1.21.4, 1.21.1, and 1.20.1 with Iris. The shader pack also keeps the standard OptiFine-compatible folder layout. For Minecraft 26.2, use the OpenGL renderer.

Installation

Download the ZIP below and place it directly in the Minecraft shaderpacks folder. Do not unpack it.

Verification

SHA-256: 76D13ACE5145068DD2291439BEE9E796B0FFF0C3A4A0BA0D31DC045C72B7819B

Static GLSL validation, settings/localization checks, and byte-for-byte archive verification passed. Live testing on each supported game/loader combination is still recommended.
