PokeSight 1.3.0: battle advice - switch-ins, abilities, active Pokémon, Tera
Each card now tells you more than the type chart: who to switch in, which abilities change the matchup and whether your Pokémon on the field already has the best move.
- Who is out: select your own name box on the start screen (or pick it in the new "Out:" list); your active Pokémon's moves are marked and a line says whether it has the best move or another team member hits harder
- Safest switch-ins: your team ranked by how it takes the opponent's attacks of its own types
- Abilities that change type matchups (Levitate, Flash Fire, Water/Volt Absorb, Thick Fat, Wonder Guard, ...), per generation: counted if the species can only have that ability, otherwise shown as "May have ..." with a "?" on the affected moves; no abilities in Let's Go and the Legends games
- Better move ranking: the score now uses your Pokémon's base Attack / Sp. Atk against the opponent's Defense / Sp. Def
- Terastallization (Scarlet/Violet): set an opponent's Tera type on its card
- Team editor: an optional name area, so one Read fills in both the Pokémon and its moves
- Update check: the start screen shows when a newer version is available (one anonymous request to GitHub; updateCheck: false in settings.yaml turns it off)
- Learned letter shapes are saved every minute; "Forget learned letters" on the start screen
- Base stats and abilities of every generation added to the data and cross-checked with Pokémon Showdown (one PokeAPI error fixed: Cryogonal)
- Fixed: a one-line row of type badges left a gap under its multiplier
Full Changelog: v1.2.1...v1.3.0
PokeSight 1.2.1: layout fix and README screenshots
- Fixed: when a row of type badges fit on one line, it still reserved room for a second line, so the multiplier (½×, 2×, ...) sat below its badges with a gap underneath
- README: screenshots of a single and a double battle
Full Changelog: v1.2.0...v1.2.1
PokeSight 1.2.0: more reliable name reading, learns your game's font
Name reading is more accurate in every generation and keeps getting better while you play.
- Learns your game's letter shapes: whenever a name is read, PokeSight stores the shapes of its letters (on your computer only) and also reads every scan by comparing shapes. Checked on 254 battle screenshots: 582 of 656 views read correctly (89 %), up from 554 in 1.1.0; Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire and Ultra Sun/Moon gain most
- More accurate OCR in general: image variants vote on the result, and tighter text thresholds separate letters from drop shadows
- Legends: Arceus, Scarlet/Violet, Legends: Z-A: the HP bar under the floating name is now also found when it is almost empty or its frame is see-through; text of the 3D scene only counts if it stands right over the bar. Scarlet/Violet 14 of 15, Legends: Arceus 9 of 9, Legends: Z-A 5 of 5 views (about half in 1.1.0)
- A battle starts when two of the last three scans agree, so a single misread scan no longer delays it
- Level reading removed: it failed too often; only names are read
- Scanning no longer stops after an error of the OCR engine, and Start shows why settings could not be saved instead of failing silently
- Learned letter shapes are kept per game in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PokeSight\glyphs; delete a file to relearn
Full Changelog: v1.1.0...v1.2.0

- Regional forms: wild Pokémon are shown in their Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian or Paldean form in games of that region
- Remakes are separate games with their own rules and screens (e.g. Red/Blue and FireRed/LeafGreen)
- Name reading checked on 254 real battle screenshots, at least five per game; Game Boy, GBA and DS games read best, see the README for the numbers per game
- Double battles, triple battles and hordes: name boxes side by side are now read separately
- Scarlet/Violet, Legends: Arceus, Legends: Z-A: the name floating above the opponent is found by its HP bar (works in about half of the cases)
- Team editor: read your Pokémon's moves from the game's move selection with one click; moves show their type colour
- Double battles show the two opponents left and right, in the normal view and in borderless mode
- Default window size 855 x 640, every view fills it
Full Changelog: v1.0.0...v1.1.0
