How to play nZombies

Alig96 edited this page Apr 16, 2014 · 2 revisions

Requirements

  • The latest version of nZombies (Click here for a tutorial)

Method 1) Workshop

Step 1) Choose a map config & Subscribe

Search the workshop for a nZombies compatible map by searching "nzombies". Official maps will be uploaded with me as the author & the mapper(s)/configurator(s) as contributors and normally with a similar picture.

Once you've chosen a map, click the big green Subscribe button

Step 2) Read the description (Important)

While you're downloading the map config, make sure you read the description for anything important.

Things to look for are:

  • What weapon pack the config is set for
  • Any additional addons required for textures / models

Usually, for the official maps you will have to download (unless stated differently in the description):

Step 3) Subscribe / Download the additional content within the description

If you completed step 2 correctly, you will have to download some additional things. Follow the links in the description for the addons, and repeat Step 1 & 2 for those addons. If the description doesn't have any additional downloads, make sure you re-read, just in case you missed something. If not move onto Step 4.

Step 4) Read the description properly

You may have thought you read the description, but you really haven't. Read it again.

Step 5) Load up GarrysMod and WAIT for the maps to download

Once they have downloaded and installed, restart your gmod & move onto the next step.

Step 6) Load up the correct gamemode & map in multiplayer (even if you're playing solo)

In the bottom right, click sandbox, and if you've installed nZombies correctly, it should be there as an option. If you don't see nZombies in this menu, make sure you've install nZombies correctly by looking here.

Step 3-1

Currently, there is a bug where you can't use tools while in Single Player, so you will have to make sure you're in multiplayer, like so:

Step 3-2

Step 7) Attempt to ready up

If the game starts, then congratulations! If not, troubleshoot below.

Method 2) Manual Install
