AlphaDocs v0.1.12
AlphaDocs 0.1.12
- Fixed offline speech setup aborting an active download after 20 seconds. Model and runtime downloads now allow up to five minutes while retaining size and SHA-256 verification.
- Hyperlink context menus show Open to link first. Ctrl/Cmd-click opens the link once; Shift-click selects text without navigation.
- Backspace/Delete recover document focus after non-text controls while preserving text-field and read-only protections.
AlphaDocs v0.1.10
AlphaDocs 0.1.10
- Recent documents wrap into neat rows within the homepage instead of extending off screen. Template cards and centred content stay within the available width when resizing.
- Fixed document-ID collisions during rapid document creation. Existing documents retain their IDs and save locations.
AlphaDocs v0.1.8
AlphaDocs 0.1.8
- Fixed Windows in-app updates rejecting portable or renamed copies downloaded from GitHub. Updates install into the standard per-user AlphaDocs folder and relaunch the installed app; the original portable folder is retained.
- The update window explains the installation destination and directs portable users to the Start-menu app afterwards.
- Added regression checks for installed, portable and renamed clients, including a fresh installation from a portable copy.
Versions 0.1.6 and 0.1.7 contain the old folder restriction. If one of those versions shows “Install with AlphaDocs Setup first”, download and run the Windows Setup once, then open AlphaDocs from the Start menu. The document library stays in place.
AlphaDocs v0.1.7
AlphaDocs 0.1.7
- Added Select cell beside Select row and Select column in table menus. Copy, format or clear a complete cell, including an empty one.
- Table calculation commands are grouped near the top of the context menu.
- Formula dialogs show the target cell and a result preview. Suggested sums follow the nearby numbers, including rows beneath an empty header.
- Added Preferences → General → Automatically recalculate table formulas. Enable it to update results as table values change; Undo restores the input and its results together. The option is off by default.
- Invalid calculation inputs preserve cached results and display a message. Recalculate table remains available for manual updates.
For numbers side by side, use =SUM(LEFT). For numbers in a column, use =SUM(ABOVE).
AlphaDocs v0.1.6
AlphaDocs 0.1.6
- Fixed DOCX imports replacing bordered paragraphs with horizontal lines and losing their text. Paragraph borders, shading and editable content now survive supported Word round trips.
- Fixed Windows updates failing because the installer kept the installation folder in use.
- Added visible delete buttons for saved custom colours.
- Added table cell, row and column backgrounds, border colours and border widths.
- Added table formulas with cell references, ranges and common calculation functions, plus undoable table recalculation.
- Added editable equations, text boxes, rectangles, ellipses, lines and arrows, with text formatting, positioning and resizing.
- Improved Word equation and shape compatibility, horizontal-line geometry and symbol rendering inside text boxes.
- Fixed informational dialogs moving the document away from the current reading position.
DOCX exports use editable Word formula fields, Office Math and standard shapes; PDF exports preserve vector graphics. Compatibility and supported formats.
Both devices must update to this version to collaborate on documents containing editable equations and shapes.
AlphaDocs v0.1.5
AlphaDocs 0.1.5
This maintenance update fixes issues found in another native interaction QA pass:
- Fast horizontal scrollbar drags keep the correct pointer owner, including the corner where the two bars meet.
- Fast mouse drags select text correctly even when the gesture arrives in one frame.
- Saving and exporting keep your reading position. Unhandled Escape presses no longer jump to the caret.
- Editor panels no longer cover window resize edges.
- Invalid custom colours cannot pin an older preview value; duplicate/full palettes explain why pinning is disabled.
- Signature drawing stops cleanly when the pointer or window focus is lost.
- The empty homepage accurately reflects the Autosave preference.
- Emoji in body text export with the bundled fallback font, including joined and skin-tone sequences.
- Closely spaced checklist items have distinct click regions and properly sized marks on screen and in PDF.
- Missing or invalid files show an opening error without replacing the current document.
Full UI-frame regression coverage includes both themes, 100%/200% zoom, 960–1920-pixel layouts, selection preservation and undo. Native Windows interaction checks and automated platform checks are distinct from physical Mac/Linux device testing.
AlphaDocs v0.1.4
AlphaDocs 0.1.4
- Drag the native document scrollbar normally; text selection and outline navigation remain intact.
- Pick any text/highlight colour using a native colour wheel, brightness rail or HEX/RGB fields, and pin it to your palette.
- Select an entire table row or column from its context menu, then copy, format or clear its cells.
- Turn selected paragraphs into interactive checklists from the toolbar or right-click menu. Completed items dim in both light and dark modes; changes remain undoable. PDF preserves visible checkmarks and DOCX uses standard Word checkbox controls.
- Dictionary searches now use a labelled Wiktionary fallback when the primary provider is unavailable.
- Create local eSignature request files containing every document tab. Signers review the frozen document, type/draw signatures or decline, and return response files. Import responses and export the completed PDF with its signing section and local record. Names and timestamps are self-declared/local; no hosted signing or certified identity service is included. Workflow.
- Built-in native offline English dictation replaces OS-shortcut instructions. Explicit first-use setup downloads the verified speech runtime/model separately (about 46–55 MB). Start/Stop, audio level, partial preview, cancellation and undoable insertion are included. Audio/document text stay on the device. No voice-formatting commands or commercial-cloud accuracy comparison are claimed.
Installers retain all supplied and third-party notices and remain subject to the 100 MB package limit. macOS apps use native traffic lights and Command controls; builds remain ad-hoc signed, not Apple-notarised. Windows/macOS/Linux build/package checks do not establish physical microphone or Mac UI verification.
AlphaDocs v0.1.3
AlphaDocs 0.1.3
- All 11 paper presets plus custom dimensions, with portrait/landscape measured layout and a redesigned Page setup. Pages/Pageless, saved defaults and the existing columns/running-text controls are included.
- New native writing tools: manual basic citations/bibliography text, independent text comparison reports, body line numbers, personal dictionary controls, optional typing substitutions and online word lookup. Advanced tracked edits, verified signature requests and externally linked objects remain visibly disabled. Full scope and limits.
- Translation stays hidden unless enabled in Preferences. Clicking Translate sends document text to MyMemory and creates a separate copy; the anonymous service has a 5,000-character daily quota. Inline styles, links and text annotations reset in the translated copy; source content remains intact.
- Autosave now waits until editing has stopped for 30 seconds. A prominent Preferences card clearly enables/disables it; explicit Save, closing and switching still preserve work.
- macOS uses native traffic lights in the integrated header. Large/double arrows use a bundled real font in the editor and PDF; recognised pasted arrow codes are repaired without changing literal code examples.
- New matching update UI with download byte progress, cancellation, SHA-256 verification, saved-document handoff, platform installation and relaunch. Native browser links work again. Installed layouts and OS authorization requirements are described in update notes.
Install this version once using the matching installer if your older app's download button does nothing. The new in-app installer flow applies to future updates from 0.1.3 onward. macOS apps remain ad-hoc signed and not Apple-notarised; the updater does not bypass Gatekeeper. Native CI and isolated installer smoke checks are not a claim of physical Mac appearance, assistive-hardware testing or a security audit.
AlphaDocs v0.1.2
AlphaDocs 0.1.2
- Native macOS Apple silicon and Intel DMGs: drag the app onto Applications. Packages retain all original licences/notices and stay below 100 MB. Legacy PKGs remain for older update clients.
- Mac Command shortcut labels and undo/redo, Option word movement/deletion, Command line/document navigation and undoable line deletion. Control-click opens real context menus; two-finger secondary clicks remain supported.
- Help now groups shortcuts by task with separate, plain-language descriptions. Help and the GitHub page link to the feedback/bug-report form; nothing is submitted automatically.
- Opt-in nearby-device discovery and encrypted live-editing invitations. Choose a device, send an edit/view invitation and wait for the receiver to choose Join. Copy/paste invitations remain available when discovery is blocked.
- A clearer Working together roster shows names and content tabs; larger, staggered caret/selection badges use matching colours.
- Box-drawing characters and arrows now use the bundled symbol fallback in the editor and PDF. Pasted text diagrams preserve spaces, use a real monospace font and fit the available column using measured advances. Known arrow entities are repaired on paste.
- Proofing skips web addresses and linked text, and recognises hyphenated prefixes such as Pre-Launch while still checking the following word.
macOS apps remain ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or Apple-notarised. A DMG does not bypass Gatekeeper. The installation guide includes Apple's per-app Open Anyway steps. Apple signing/notarisation credentials are required to remove the unidentified-publisher warning.
Nearby discovery shares chosen device metadata on the LAN; private invitations and documents use encrypted direct connections. Device names are not verified identities; compare short device IDs. Nearby invitations expire after 60 seconds; underlying session invitations still expire within one hour. No relays, hosted storage or account authentication are configured. Nearby discovery has automated loopback/native-host coverage; physical Mac UI and Gatekeeper testing are not claimed.
Windows printing is implemented; Linux/macOS native print backends remain outstanding. Interchange support remains the documented subset.
AlphaDocs v0.1.1
AlphaDocs 0.1.1
AlphaDocs by Alpha Workroom: a native offline document editor with the supplied Free Use & Non-Monetisation Licence 1.1.
- Windows setup/portable ZIP, Linux DEB/portable archive, and macOS Apple silicon/Intel PKG/app bundles.
- Optional daily GitHub update checks, manual Help/About access and matching installer downloads. Checks never send document content or execute updates.
- Independent open-document tabs,
.adocsdownloads, local autosave/history, rich content, comments, offline proofing and reversible image editing. - Theme-aware owner branding, file-location access, scrolling titles and undoable image drops between paragraph lines.
- A refreshed project page with formatted book/guide/brief examples, chapter/file-tab GIFs, sharing and crop demonstrations, and a 32-second promo video.
Downloads include licences/notices and checksums. Windows printing is implemented; Linux/macOS native printing remains outstanding. Interchange formats support a documented subset. macOS PKGs are unsigned and not Apple-notarised; app bundles have ad-hoc signatures. Read the installation notes before choosing a package.
