Klik PRO v1.3.9

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 14 Jul 04:54

Klik PRO v1.3.9

This is a small final polish update focused on making first-time setup clearer and easier to understand.

What is improved

  • Clearer permission status — the Granted and Needs permission badges are now easier to see.
  • Better Permissions layout — the Recheck button no longer crowds or overlaps the permission status.
  • Updated screenshots — the GitHub previews now show the latest interface at a sharper resolution.

Your existing mouse shortcuts and settings are not changed by this update.

Which file should I download?

  • Klik-PRO-v1.3.9-macos-universal.dmg — recommended for most people who prefer a normal drag-and-drop installation.
  • install-klik-pro.sh — recommended if you are comfortable with Terminal and want the download authenticated and checked automatically before installation.
  • Klik-PRO-v1.3.9-macos-universal.zip — contains the same app as the DMG and is provided as an alternative.

The .sha256 and .sig files are verification files used to confirm that a download is complete and authentic.

See the installation guide for step-by-step instructions.

Compatibility

  • macOS 13 or later
  • Apple Silicon and Intel Macs
  • Open source under the MIT License

After the first launch, macOS will ask you to grant Accessibility access to Klik PRO Helper. This is the only permission Klik PRO requires for receiving extra mouse-button events.

Important macOS note

Klik PRO is open source and ad-hoc signed, but it is not Apple-notarized. macOS may therefore block a manual first launch. The signed Terminal installer verifies the release checksum and signature before installing and removing quarantine.

If Klik PRO is useful to you, consider starring the project or supporting continued development.

Klik PRO v1.3.8

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 14 Jul 01:38

Klik PRO v1.3.8 focuses on reliability, simpler background operation, and safer installation.

Highlights

  • Save and apply work now runs away from the AppKit main thread, with visible Applying status and bounded helper timeouts instead of beachballing.
  • Mouse mappings, the Klik PRO menu icon, and optional Quick Launch hotkeys now share one background helper and one LaunchAgent. Upgrades remove the obsolete second service automatically.
  • Permissions adds a Recheck action for immediately refreshing Accessibility status.
  • Special Feature linked-button locks are upright, red, and positioned beside their ChatGPT / Codex or Claude badge.
  • A secure Terminal installer authenticates signed checksum manifests with the Klik PRO Ed25519 release key, verifies the DMG and nested app identities, and preserves rollback safety.

Installation

  • Recommended GUI path: download the universal DMG and drag Klik PRO.app to Applications.
  • Verified Terminal path: download and inspect install-klik-pro.sh, then run it. Never pipe a network response directly into a shell.
  • The app is ad-hoc signed and is not Apple-notarized; manual installations still require the documented Gatekeeper approval and Accessibility permission.

Klik PRO v1.3.6

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 13 Jul 19:31

Fixed

  • Fresh DMG and ZIP installations now create Klik PRO's two per-user background-service files automatically.
  • Accessibility onboarding can start the real nested Klik PRO Helper and create the correct macOS permission entry without manual LaunchAgent copying or username editing.
  • The Special Feature toggle now stays ON after activation instead of immediately switching back OFF when its menu service was not previously registered.
  • Launch at login and permission repair also verify the required service setup before continuing.

Install

Download the universal DMG, open it, and drag Klik PRO.app onto Applications. The ZIP contains the same universal Apple Silicon + Intel app as an alternative.

Klik PRO v1.3.4

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 13 Jul 17:23

Highlights

  • Added a compact first-launch welcome guide with live Accessibility status, ready-to-try defaults, guided setup, and a reliable Back to Welcome review flow.
  • Added clear mouse-over feedback to Save, update, onboarding, and Close controls.
  • Standardized the compact Klik PRO wordmark and raised green PRO badge across onboarding, Mappings, Settings, About, and the app icon.
  • Improved spacing in the two-column Quick Launch controls and refreshed the README screenshots with the final v1.3.4 layout.
  • Clarified installation, button naming, driver status, open-source support, trademark, and contribution documentation.

Clean-install verification

A fresh v1.3.4 installation was verified on macOS 26.5.2 (build 25F84):

  • Klik PRO Helper was added automatically to Accessibility during guided onboarding.
  • Middle, Gesture, Back, Forward, and thumb-wheel left/right events all routed correctly.
  • Keyboard ⌘Tab remained native and was not intercepted.
  • Both background services remained running with empty error logs.
  • The universal archive, ad-hoc signatures, Intel/Apple Silicon binaries, and SHA-256 checksum were verified.

Install

DMG (recommended)

Download Klik-PRO-v1.3.4-macos-universal.dmg, open it, and drag Klik PRO.app onto the Applications shortcut.

Klik PRO v1.3.3

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 13 Jul 14:10

Highlights

  • Refined the two-column Mappings and Settings layouts, including clearer Permissions, About, support, and Quick Launch controls.
  • Added Forward → ChatGPT / Codex and Back → Claude as the new Quick Launch defaults. Existing custom assignments are preserved, and None remains a persistent choice.
  • Added Firefox and Firefox Developer Edition thumb-wheel tab switching and compatible native Back/Forward routing.
  • Added reset buttons for shortcut fields and extended the red Unsaved changes indicator to every state-changing control.
  • Added independent visibility controls for the main Klik PRO icon and Quick Launch icons while keeping configured shortcuts active.
  • Added Settings, About, and Quit actions to the main menu-bar icon.

Accessibility and setup

  • Settings now shows the only required permission—Accessibility—with live status plus Setup/Open, Reset, and Logs actions.
  • The guided setup asks the nested Klik PRO Helper to register itself before opening the correct macOS pane.
  • macOS may require Accessibility to be enabled again after installing this new ad-hoc-signed helper build. This final approval remains user-controlled.

Klik PRO v1.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 13 Jul 08:33

Highlights

  • Restores the physical Gesture Button as a recordable control with its default ⇧⌘6 shortcut, while a device-scoped F20 sentinel leaves keyboard ⌘Tab unchanged for normal app switching.
  • Sends default browser Back/Forward as native side-button events in Chromium-family browsers and Firefox, avoiding Claude for Chrome shortcut activation; Safari keeps its documented bracket fallback.
  • Adds read-only detection of configured Chromium-extension shortcuts so browser-local collisions can show May Conflict.
  • Adds a persistent Klik PRO menu-bar icon. Its two green button dots appear only while the Accessibility input tap is active.
  • Makes the ChatGPT / Codex and Claude Special Feature flexible: each launcher can use None, Middle, Gesture, Forward, or Back without overwriting the button's normal mapping.
  • Enables the Special Feature only when a valid ChatGPT / Codex or Claude desktop app is installed, with separate readiness feedback for missing apps and launcher wrappers.
  • Lists Scroll Mode as Coming soon without intercepting its native Control-C firmware event.
  • Introduces the approved opaque frosted-white mouse preview and centered app icon with an overlapping PRO badge and soft lower shadow.
  • Adds a red Unsaved changes note for pending configuration edits, plus refined Special Feature spacing and updated tested-hardware/app documentation.

Upgrade notes

The input helper changed substantially. After replacing the app and LaunchAgents, macOS may require you to remove and re-add Klik PRO Helper under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Existing configuration is migrated and preserved.

Gesture isolation currently targets one supported device profile. Generic middle and forward/back controls were also checked across compatible multi-button mice. Scroll Mode remains native and unimplemented.

The optional ChatGPT / Codex and Claude quick-launch still requires its matching second-instance launcher wrapper. The installed desktop app and wrapper are validated separately.

Klik PRO is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. Gatekeeper therefore blocks a fresh download until you use Open Anyway in Privacy & Security or clear the quarantine attribute as described in INSTALL.md.

Install

  • ZIP: cfc9ead87aefb089732ee998457ff7afa5722cdcef175cb6bbe5b1c7b14063dc

Verification

The complete routing, Gesture isolation, menu-icon, launcher-assignment, installed-app gating, preview-fixture, and unsaved-state checks passed. Both binaries compile for Apple Silicon and Intel with a macOS 13 minimum. Deterministic artwork checks, clean archive inspection, exact resource comparisons, SHA-256 verification, and strict deep code-signature verification also passed.

The packaged v1.3.2 build was not installed or physically retested on the mouse before publication; the currently installed app remains v1.3.1.

Full changes from v1.3.1

Klik PRO v1.3.1

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 13 Jul 04:00

Highlights

  • Restores the existing recognizable angled mouse artwork, app icon, and six device callouts.
  • Fixes the swapped side-button routing: Mouse Button 4 now uses Back, and Mouse Button 5 uses Forward.
  • Leaves Gesture and Scroll Mode firmware shortcuts native so Klik PRO never hijacks physical-keyboard Command-Tab or Control-C.
  • Limits thumb-wheel tab switching to discrete mouse-wheel ticks so continuous trackpad swipes pass through.
  • Removes unfinished Settings controls until those behaviors are implemented.
  • Ships the first downloadable universal package for Apple Silicon and Intel, with a macOS 13 minimum.

Upgrade notes

If you manually swapped the Forward and Back assignments to compensate for v1.3.0, set them back to the intended shortcuts after updating. The input helper changed, so macOS may require you to remove and re-add Klik PRO Helper under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

Klik PRO is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. Gatekeeper therefore rejects a fresh download until you use Open Anyway in Privacy & Security or clear the quarantine attribute as described in INSTALL.md.

Verification

The routing tests, firmware-keyboard pass-through guard, dual-architecture builds, plist checks, deterministic artwork check, clean archive extraction, and deep code-signature verification all passed. Physical-device verification was not rerun for this build.

Full changes from v1.3.0

Klik PRO v1.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@AminudinMurad AminudinMurad released this 13 Jul 01:00

New original artwork.

  • The app icon and the in-app device diagram are now an original, generic mouse illustration — a clean flat/schematic drawing rather than a photoreal render of a specific commercial mouse. This better fits the "works on any multi-button mouse" spirit and avoids resembling any particular manufacturer's product.
  • The generator (tools/draw-mouse.swift) is included, and the six device-diagram callouts were re-tuned to the new control positions.
  • Removed the old photoreal image assets; docs updated.

No functional/mapping changes.
