Execution

So you have the Pi configured (If you don't, see the Pi Setup page) so now what? Here's the software side of it.

Hardware Requirements:

  • a Raspberry Pi with Raspbian Installed
  • A USB flash drive, named TLPS
  • A USB webcam

Software requirements:

  • RUN-ME-FIRST.sh script, ran with Internet Access
  • NEWTLPS.sh file, saved to the desktop
  • Raspbian installed on the Pi

How to run:

Note: if the GUI doesn't open, just type in "raspi-config" and then change to boot to GUI on startup. Or you can type "startx" to boot into GUI once.

The default rPi username and password is: pi/raspberry

  1. Open the NEWTLPS.sh file, but don't execute it!

  2. You can change variables at the top. The main variable to change is "TTTP". You can change this to the military time equivalent of when you want the picture to take. For example, if you want the picture to take at 6 PM, you would enter "1800".

  3. Save that file. Once the file is configured, open it, and pick "Execute in Terminal"
