FieldScreen TV — Live NFL preview
Pre-releaseFieldScreen TV now connects the NFL dashboard to ESPN and nflverse, with matchup discovery in your own IPTV guide.
What is included
- Real NFL scores and kickoff times, the full weekly schedule, all 32 teams, and all eight division standings.
- Game Day automatic focus, manual pinning, and a paged wall of detailed fields. Pregame scores remain blank; possession markers use reported positions.
- Game details with quarter scores, team stats, recent/scoring plays, and player leaders when published.
- Team Lab with season/category selection and advanced nflverse metrics, including EPA, CPOE, air yards, sacks, and QB hits.
- Find broadcast: compare a selected matchup and kickoff window with XMLTV listings, see match confidence, and choose its channel for any pane.
- Full-screen, split, four-pane, and one-plus-three layouts mixing IPTV video and NFL information. Right-stick scrolling for long data panels.
- Scores refresh every 30 seconds while visible. A failed refresh keeps the last successful update with a cached label and timestamp.
Download
Use FieldScreen-TV-0.1.0-preview.2-Linux-x86_64.AppImage, or extract the .tar.gz alternative. On Steam Deck, download in Desktop Mode, allow the executable to run, and add it to Steam as a non-Steam game. Use a standard Gamepad layout in Gaming Mode, without Proton. The same 16:9 interface is intended for a docked TV.
Connect your M3U/Xtream provider and XMLTV guide privately inside the app. The public download contains no IPTV account information or bundled NFL broadcasts.
Data and preview scope
ESPN endpoints are publicly reachable without an API key, but undocumented and unsupported for this project. Data may lag broadcasts and endpoint availability may change. nflverse data is used under CC BY 4.0, selected, normalized, and rounded for display. Advanced statistics are published after games; a current-season file may not exist yet.
Casting, Apple TV/Android TV apps, saved layouts, and physical Steam Deck/TV/controller verification remain future work. Actual provider playback depends on its allowed connections, formats, and codecs.
Validation: 16 automated checks, the production browser build, packaged-content checks, local real-feed requests, and a launch smoke test of the Linux AppImage. Includes checks for stale data, valid field positions, kickoff times, XMLTV matching, provider privacy, and player reuse.
