FieldScreen TV now records games locally and plays them back from a saved-game library.

  • Pause live video and return to the live edge.
  • Choose and verify a recording folder on your computer.
  • Record a live channel or schedule an upcoming NFL/MLB game; XMLTV matches the broadcast at the saved start time.
  • Browse saved, active, scheduled, partial, and failed recordings; play, seek, stop, cancel, and explicitly delete them.
  • Keep pending recordings running in the background when the window closes.
  • Includes a static recording engine: no separate runtime installation is needed.

Keep the computer powered on, online, and FieldScreen running. Live pause has a limited buffer. Scheduled times are fixed; reschedule if the league changes the game time. Each recording needs an additional provider connection, with up to two recordings at once. Scheduled recordings cannot wake a powered-off computer.

Validation: 47 automated tests passed, including real FFmpeg HLS/MPEG-TS recording, extensionless HLS, seekable playback, scheduler start/stop, interrupted files, storage errors, and provider matching. Browser playback/layout checks and the packaged Linux app smoke check passed. Physical Steam Deck testing and a full-length broadcast recording remain pending.

Download the AppImage or portable Linux x64 archive. SHA256SUMS covers all downloads. FieldScreen-Recorder-Sources-8.1.2.tar.gz contains the recording engine's complete corresponding sources, build script, and licenses; it is not required to run the app.
