@Ankhito Ankhito released this 20 Jul 10:03

New

  • The Host's room phrase library is now available in the normal Phrase Overlay for both Host and Co-Host while connected.
  • Both participants can independently browse the Host's folders and send phrases through their own local 3DX client.
  • Hiding the Co-Hosting management window now keeps the live room connected; use Disconnect or End / Leave Room when you intend to leave.

Improved

  • Turn-order synchronization is now event-driven and sends an update only after a genuine edit.
  • Turn-order edits use compact live messages instead of retransmitting the entire phrase library.
  • Connected rooms stop polling the room-list service and use the existing live connection for presence and state changes.
  • Temporary room phrases remain isolated from the Co-Host's local library, folder selection, and quickbinds.

Fixed

  • Fixed the shared turn-order interface rapidly blinking between Host and Co-Host states.
  • Fixed identical remote states being echoed repeatedly between participants.
  • Fixed unnecessary Cloudflare and database traffic continuing while a room was already connected.

Known limitation

  • Co-Hosting remains experimental and needs continued two-host testing and feedback.

3DX Hosting Companion 0.7.4

@Ankhito Ankhito released this 20 Jul 09:35

Improved

  • A detected chat position now remains cached for the current 3DX window session.
  • Silent background scans preserve the last known-good position when detection fails.
  • Manual Scan remains available when the chat panel is deliberately moved.
  • Chat-location status now accurately describes the session-long cache.

Fixed

  • Fixed the internal chat-position cache expiring after five minutes even when automatic rescanning was disabled.
  • Fixed sends unexpectedly triggering a hidden OCR rescan after the cache expired.
  • Fixed background OCR occasionally replacing the correct chat position with a distant purple interface element.

3DX Hosting Companion 0.7.3

@Ankhito Ankhito released this 20 Jul 09:25

Improved

  • The invited Co-Host can now select an invited room and press Connect; the app accepts the invitation automatically before opening the live session.
  • Hosts now receive a clear waiting message while the invited friend has not yet accepted.
  • Missing, ended, and expired invitations now show more useful guidance.

Fixed

  • Fixed Connect incorrectly rejecting a valid selected invitation with “Select an accepted room.”
  • Fixed the invitation card and separate Accept action creating an unnecessary and confusing extra step.

Known limitation

  • Co-Hosting remains experimental and needs continued two-host testing and feedback.

3DX Hosting Companion 0.7.2

@Ankhito Ankhito released this 20 Jul 09:05

Improved

  • Co-Hosting rooms now refresh automatically while the window is open.
  • Accepted invitations connect automatically as soon as the active room becomes available.
  • Unexpected live-room disconnections now show a clear status and attempt to reconnect.
  • Connection, invitation, and synchronization states are easier to distinguish.

Fixed

  • Fixed accepted invitations sometimes remaining stuck as invited for the Host.
  • Fixed rapid player additions and turn-order edits occasionally failing to reach the Co-Host.
  • Fixed valid updates being ignored when the Host and Co-Host computers had different system clocks.
  • Fixed live-room connection errors being hidden behind a generic disconnected state.

Known limitation

  • Co-Hosting remains experimental and needs continued two-host testing and feedback.

@Ankhito Ankhito released this 20 Jul 05:58

New

  • Added an in-app form for bug reports, feature requests, and general feedback without requiring a GitHub or Companion account.
  • Added an optional in-game-name field so testers can identify themselves when they want to.
  • Successful submissions provide a feedback reference and direct link to the public issue.

Improved

  • Placed Send Feedback beside the Ko-fi button in the bottom-right corner.
  • The form clearly explains which entered details become publicly visible before submission.
  • Feedback never automatically includes phrases, Room Files, account details, or diagnostic logs.

Fixed

  • Restored the dark app theme across Co-Hosting room lists, synchronized phrase lists, shared turn-order lists, and tabs.

Known limitation

  • Co-Hosting remains experimental and still needs real two-host testing and feedback.

Experimental Co-Hosting

Important testing notice: Co-Hosting is wholly untested in a real two-user hosting session. This is an experimental first pass and needs detailed feedback before it should be considered reliable.

  • Create private Co-Hosting rooms by directly inviting an accepted friend.
  • Inviter becomes Host; the friend who accepts becomes Co-Host.
  • Temporarily synchronize the Host's Game Host phrases and current turn order.
  • Both users can send session phrases through their own local 3DX client.
  • Both users can update and send the shared turn order.
  • Co-Host phrase data is not saved into their local phrase library.
  • Rooms expire and delete their temporary synchronized state after 12 hours.
  • Added single-instance protection to prevent false shortcut-conflict warnings.

There are no public rooms, room searches, random joins, room keys, or join codes. Please report connection, synchronization, sending, and turn-order problems.

Friends

  • Added a dedicated Friends window in the main app header.
  • Every signed-in account receives a unique Friend Code.
  • Send, accept, decline, and cancel friend requests.
  • View and remove friends from one self-contained screen.
  • OAuth accounts are not searchable through the Companion.

Adding a friend does not automatically share phrases, Room Files, or cloud backups. This release creates the trusted relationship layer for future co-hosting and explicit content sharing.

Optional cloud backups

  • Back up and restore your phrase library from Settings.
  • Optionally select individual 3DX Room Files for byte-for-byte cloud backup.
  • Restore Room Files to a destination you choose without modifying their contents.
  • Cloud features require a Google or Discord account, but the app remains fully usable without signing in.
  • Signing in never uploads files automatically; every backup is started by you.
  • Uploads are protected with HTTPS/TLS and stored privately with Cloudflare-managed encryption at rest.
  • Added checksum verification to detect damaged or changed backup data.

Cloud storage is not end-to-end encrypted with a personal key, and no online service can promise that unauthorized access is impossible. See the website privacy page for the complete explanation.

Fixed

  • Countdown sends now clear stale 3DX chat-input text before each paste, preventing numbers from joining into strings such as 54321.
  • Added a short processing window after Enter so 3DX can finish sending before the next countdown step.

Improved

  • Custom-status creation is now clearly available through Manage Statuses beside the player count.
  • Added a dedicated panel for adding, selecting, and removing custom player-status labels.

Existing local phrases, custom statuses, player lists, Room Files, and settings are preserved when updating.

What’s new

  • Added custom player-status labels in the Turn Order Manager.
  • Create short markers such as SH for Shield and use them in both full and overlay player dropdowns.
  • Custom statuses are saved locally, restored between sessions, and included in local backups.
  • Custom markers appear naturally in turn-order messages, for example Ankh(SH).

Improvements

  • Removing a custom status safely resets players using it to Playing.
  • The Turn Order Manager controls panel scrolls cleanly at smaller window sizes.

Existing local phrases, player lists, Room Files, and settings are preserved when updating.
