What's new

Stop and restart web servers from the launcher. The launcher's Running list now shows every Append HMI Web server on the computer, including ones started separately with --headless (marked in the background). For each:

  • the application, its file, its port and how many browsers are connected;
  • Restart: starts it again with the same settings and reads the .ahmi file afresh. Use it after saving changes in Append HMI Studio; connected browsers reload by themselves;
  • Stop: stops it. A background process exits once its last server stops.

Closing the launcher stops only its own servers; background servers keep running.

Other addresses of each server are folded away under Other addresses, so several servers fit in the window.

Fixes

  • Start button: shows Running whenever any server already serves the selected application with the chosen settings, including one running in the background.
  • Start-up errors: an error starting a server from the command line (for example, the port already in use) now appears in the launcher, instead of being lost when it happened before the window opened.

How it works

  • Server records: each server records itself in servers/ in the Append HMI Web settings folder, with a random token readable only by your user account.
  • Control address: Stop and Restart reach a server through its control address (/hmi-web/control), which accepts only requests from the same computer that carry the token.

Servers started by version 1.0.0 do not record themselves, so they are not listed. Stop them once (Task Manager, or kill) after updating.
