Album Artists

Description

An album artist is an artist whose name is used to release an album under.

For example: The album artist of Hotel Costes 5 is Stephane Pompougnac.

Before v3.11.0, albums could have zero or one album artist. If an album does not have an album artist, it will be considered as a compilation album.

If the compilation tag is set in the embedded metadata, the albumArtist metadata will be ignored, the album will not have any album artist, and thus will be considered as a compilation album.

Starting from v3.11.0, albums can have more than one album artist. For example, Challengers has two album artists: Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.

In the embedded metadata, album artists should be separated using semicolons. For example, for Challengers, the albumArtists field should be Trent Reznor;Atticus Ross.
