π v1.0.2 - Backend Migration & Stability Fixes
This release brings a major architectural overhaul to the backend server, significantly improving performance, maintainability, and resolving critical connection issues.
ποΈ Major Architectural Changes
- Migrated Backend from Python to TypeScript/Node.js: Completely rewrote the Flask-based Python backend (
server.py) into a native Node.js application (server.ts) using Express and Socket.io. - Native Integration: By moving to a Node.js backend, the Electron app now runs natively without relying on a separate Python executable (
server.exe). This drastically reduces the application's footprint and simplifies the build process.
π Bug Fixes
- YouTube Chat Crash Fixed: Fixed a critical bug where connecting to YouTube Live would crash the application with a
Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'map')error. Implemented a persistent local patch to theyoutube-chatdependency to handle edge-case payloads (like missingrunsarrays in system messages and memberships) correctly.
π οΈ Under the Hood
- Replaced the python-based web server with
expressandsocket.io. - Integrated
tiktok-live-connectorandyoutube-chatnatively in TypeScript. - Added a new
build:tsstep to the build pipeline to compile TypeScript code intodist-ts/before packaging withelectron-builder. - Automated dependency patching using
patch-packageon post-install. - Removed deprecated Python scripts and legacy files (
test_tt.py,server.exe, etc.).
