This guide assumes you've already created and setup an Avoid project.

§ Adding mixins with the Avoid Framework

WARNING: Mixins in Avoid do not run on Sponge and Paper!

  1. Add the mixins field to your avoid.mod.json file;
    Like this:

  2. Create the mymod.mixins.json file in your project resources root;
    It should be like the following:

    {
      "required": true,
      "minVersion": "0.8",
      "package": "com.example.mymod.mixin",
      "compatibilityLevel": "JAVA_21",
      "mixins": [
      ],
      "client": [
      ],
      "injectors": {
        "defaultRequire": 1
      },
      "overwrites": {
        "requireAnnotations": true
      },
      "mixinextras": {
        "minVersion": "0.5.3"
      }
    }
  3. As an optional step, you may install the Minecraft Dev extension if you're using IntelliJ IDEA.
