AyCode 7.1.5
Desktop 7.1.5 · AyCode Cloud needs a redeploy
Team Sessions now hold up: after sleep, a network change or a cloud restart the session is back within seconds, and what you wrote in the meantime arrives. A chat whose subscription hit its limit can be taken over by someone else with their own subscription, and it stays the same chat. In the Team Chat you see who is typing and where to pick up reading, and a mention reaches you even while you are in another chat.
Highlights
- Take over a team chat. Every chat in a Team Session runs on the subscription of the person running it. Anyone allowed to take part can now take over a running chat ("Übernehmen") and bring it back ("Zurückholen"). The chat stays the same for everyone, with its whole history and a line "Ab hier über Annas Abo · Codex" where it changed hands. The code comes along, and a running answer or a waiting approval is never cut off. Want to keep a chat to yourself? Switch "Übernehmen" off in the chat list.
- Carry on at the limit. When the agent of a chat stops at its subscription's limit, everyone else sees when it frees up and gets a notification with "Übernehmen". "Mit meinem Abo weitermachen" takes the chat over, and your own agent carries on exactly where the other one stopped.
- See who is typing in the Team Chat. A line above the Team Chat box shows who is typing right now ("Anna schreibt …"). It disappears after a short pause or once the message is sent. It travels end-to-end encrypted, at most every three seconds, and is never stored.
- "New since you were away". When you come back to a session, a quiet line marks the first message you have not seen yet, and the Team Chat shows it to you.
- Mentions reach you anywhere. If someone mentions you with @ while you are in another chat, "Anna mentioned you in the Team-Chat." appears with "Open". Before, a mention only got through when the window was in the background.
- An honest connection indicator. When something is wrong with the connection, the session header says calmly that it is reconnecting, since when it has been offline, or that the host is away right now, with a button to connect now. When all is well, it stays out of sight. In the English app these Team Session words are still German; their translation follows.
Improved
- Back right after waking up. After sleep, unlocking or when the network returns, every Team Session reconnects at once instead of waiting up to a minute and a half. While the Mac sleeps, AyCode does not try at all.
- Nothing is lost when the line drops. Messages, reactions, comments, pins and tasks made during a drop wait and go out afterwards, in order and exactly once. They only go out under the key they were written under: if the host removed someone in the meantime, they expire instead of leaving under an old key.
- A cloud restart costs only seconds. When AyCode Cloud restarts, for example during a redeploy, it tells the apps, and everyone reconnects within two seconds, spread out so not everyone knocks at once.
- A network change is noticed at once. Switch Wi-Fi, join a VPN or pull the cable, and every Team Session asks right away instead of waiting up to a minute and a half for the heartbeat. A connection that never even comes up is knocked on again on its own.
- A cut transfer says so at once. If the line drops during "Vom Gastgeber übertragen" or a branch transfer, the receiver says so immediately and the sender offers the bundle again by itself once the line is back — once per bundle, and nothing half-finished is applied.
Fixed
- After a cloud crash, messages no longer arrived. Mailbox numbers could repeat after a crash, and a Mac then never fetched the new messages. Now they keep counting safely after every start, and a damaged mailbox no longer takes the cloud down.
- A full disk took the cloud down. One failed write ended the cloud, and nothing was saved after that. Now it records the error and catches up on the next write.
- Quiet sessions vanished after seven days. A session expired when nobody wrote for seven days, even with everyone connected. Now every connection counts as activity.
- One stuck connection could overload the cloud. A connection that stops reading is cut once 64 MB pile up for it, and catches up through the mailbox afterwards.
- Changes that arrived before their message were lost. If, after a break, an edit, a pin or a delete arrived before the message itself, the change vanished and deleted messages could reappear. Now the change waits for its message.
- Reactions and pins made during a drop never arrived. If the line was down while you reacted, commented or pinned, the others never saw it.
- "Host offline", though it was your own line. The session header blamed the host while it was in fact your own connection that was down. It now names your own line, and the box above the composer says what applies.
- A message the cloud played again came back after an app restart. The guard against replayed messages lived in memory only; after a restart the old numbers counted as new again. It now survives the restart.
- An ancient message could fire an order again. What makes a Mac act for someone else now carries its send time, sealed inside. The receiver refuses it when it is too far from its own clock. The roster and the task list only ever rise; an older version is no longer applied.
- The cloud no longer accepts this Mac's sign-in. If the device was signed out or removed, AyCode kept quietly trying. Now it says that it has to be signed in again.
- Rolling numbers stretched the list they sit in. A counting number, say on an agent, made its row wider and pushed the layout around. It now has a fixed width.

Notes
- First launch on a Mac: not notarized by Apple yet. If macOS blocks AyCode, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose "Open Anyway". On Windows, if SmartScreen warns you, choose "More info" → "Run anyway".
- For those following along: AyCode Cloud needs a redeploy (Coolify). There are no new
features, and older apps keep working with it. After every restart the mailbox numbers jump to the current time in milliseconds; that is intended and keeps them unique. - Security: what waits out a drop is released by a guest only once the host answers a fresh random number; an old message the cloud plays again is not enough. Known limit: the session key is shared and not signed, so someone who still holds an old key and controls the cloud can act as the host. Host signatures are the next step.
- Security: the numbers that guard against replayed messages are now on disk and survive a restart. On top of that, orders, the roster and the task list carry a sealed send time that applies independently of them. This covers AyCode Macs; browser guests and older Mac versions are not yet covered, because they do not send the send time. It is tested that a second Mac of the same account still joins as usual.
- Still open for 7.1.6: the cloud should cap connections per account without devices pushing each other out. That is not part of 7.1.5.
- E2E: 21 Playwright tests were red on
main. They are green now — real defects fixed in the product, stale tests brought up to the 7.x interface, and comparison images refreshed only after looking at the difference. - People let into a session receive the earlier Team Chat history from the host; only the mailbox stays closed to them. The docs said otherwise before.
