Desktop 7.2.0
AyCode now runs on Linux, dictation works in every app, and Aylinge in group chats answer in seconds, vote and share files. Many small steps got shorter, and a long list of fixes makes AyCode calmer and safer.
Highlights
- AyCode for Linux. Download the AppImage or the .deb package (x64). The AppImage updates itself like the Mac and Windows apps. With the .deb, AyCode downloads and checks the new version and shows it in your file manager; you install it with a double-click or
sudo apt install. Team invite links open AyCode on Linux too, and team sessions and sign-in find the keyring on i3, Sway and Hyprland as well as GNOME and KDE. - Dictate into any app. Press ⌃⌥ Space on a Mac or Ctrl+Alt+Space on Windows and Linux, speak, and the text lands where your cursor is. On a Mac you can also hold the right Option key while you speak and let go to write. The dictation pill is calmer, and your dictionary now sits in Settings. Dictation learns your own words and keeps its model warm, so the first word is not lost. If you like, the AyCode Cloud can transcribe for you instead of your computer.
- Group chats that feel like a messenger. Aylinge answer within seconds, several at once, and you watch each answer being typed in its own bubble. Start a message with "Abstimmung: …" and every Ayling votes, ending with a verdict. You can share files and notes in a group and reply to a single message. The Rat der Fünf has a "Schnell" mode that answers as a group and votes right away. "Nochmal" under an Ayling's answer writes just that answer again, in its place.
- Report a problem from the app. Settings › About › "Report a problem" sends a bug report to the AyCode community. Before anything goes out you see exactly what is sent, and afterwards you can follow its status.
- Modules for other developers. A module API with clear permissions, an SDK and "Neues Modul anlegen" let others build AyCode modules without AyCode's source code. AyCode says plainly what a permission does and does not limit.
- Schnellchat on Liquid Glass. On macOS 26 the quick chat window uses Liquid Glass, on Windows 11 Acrylic, and it comes in with a calm entrance. It works entirely from the keyboard, takes what you copied along, and you can dictate into it.
- More at the notch. The island sits beside the notch with your Aylinge and small widgets for agents and limits. A pointer passing by no longer opens it, and it stays at the notch when an external screen is the main display.
Improved
- Getting started is one click. Setting up the agents takes one click and four short lines, and the start screen asks you to set them up instead of listing fifteen unchecked ones. Settings call them "Agents" everywhere.
- Faster ways around. ⌘J and one row in the sidebar walk you to the chats that need you. ⌘1 to ⌘9 open the chat at that place in the sidebar, and Ctrl+Tab goes back to the previous chat. Ctrl shortcuts work on Windows and Linux.
- Fewer clicks while agents work. When an agent asks whether to go on, yes is one click. "Alle erlauben" answers several waiting permission requests at once. Whatever you type in the command palette can start a new chat.
- Projects and chats. Drop a folder on the sidebar or the project overview and it becomes a project; the overview also has a tile for adding one. Archiving a chat says so and offers "Rückgängig" (undo), and snoozed chats stay snoozed after a restart.
- Error cards offer the fix. When an agent fails, the card says what happened in plain words and gives you a button: another model, or the agent settings where the fix lives.
- Plans price themselves. The usage view reads your plan from your account (for example Claude Max 20x) and shows its monthly price. The agent and usage pages are calmer. Shortly before an agent reaches its limit, AyCode says so quietly, and the island counts exactly what the usage view counts.
- Asked once, not by default. On first start AyCode asks once whether you want to share anonymous usage statistics and voice samples. Nothing is sent before you answer, and you can change it any time in Settings.
- Windows and Linux in their own words. AyCode says Explorer or file manager and "this computer" where it used to say Finder and Mac, and the English settings no longer fall back to German.
- Design. Status badges, branch names and captions meet AA contrast, dialogs and settings keep their layout in small windows, and scrolling no longer slides the start page sideways. "Reduce motion" is followed live.
Fixed
- Safer by default. A file link never starts a program; it shows the file in its folder. Artifacts and canvas documents carry their security policy before any script runs. AyCode's data folder is closed to other users of the computer. Team guests can no longer read the host's .git, secret or ignored files, and they decide only requests that wait in the shared chat. Side calls of Antigravity and Kimi run without tools, and diagnostics drop echoed keys.
- Agents on Windows. Stop ends the whole agent, and agents installed with npm start without cmd.exe, so prompts with several lines arrive whole. A crashed Codex app server fails its requests at once instead of hanging.
- Steadier chats. A queued message survives an answer that ends while the agent decides, two chat updates started together both survive, deleting a chat while it answers shows no save error, and dollar signs in a command reach the prompt as typed.
- Steadier app. An engine stuck while starting is restarted, a setting changed during a restart is applied, a message or view that cannot render shows a note instead of a blank window, and starting AyCode again reopens a closed window.
- Sync and cloud. Dropped uploads no longer hang, closing sync waits for the running round, sync keeps polling when its connection never gets through, and a phone that signs out no longer signs out the computer.
- Group chats after a restart. Waiting messages go out first, pictures stay with their message, and a member removed mid-answer no longer stalls the round.
- Notes and brain. Every note in your vault opens again, also from a team session, and a shared chat says whose vault a note is in. Memory notes stay searchable when they change, saving a note never waits for a long index run, and a summary written again does not inherit the old ticks.

Notes
- First launch on a Mac: not notarized by Apple yet. If macOS blocks AyCode, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose "Open Anyway". On Windows, if SmartScreen warns you, choose "More info" → "Run anyway".
- Linux: make the AppImage executable once (
chmod +x, or Properties → "Allow executing as program"). AyCode needs glibc 2.34 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 35 and later). - For those following along: the AyCode Cloud needs a redeploy for the admin overview, usage statistics, transcription, voice samples and "Report a problem";

Desktop 7.2.0
- In jede App diktieren.
